This HUD... is the worst ever

Snap ins / hard tags to A2 swap the point and the A2 spot, throwing the forward rotation idea out the window. It also throws out a backwards rotation.

Seriously, if this is made to be compatible with the Vita… why not just change it only in the Vita version? It shouldn’t even programmatically hard to do such (and if it is, I worry for Capcom). Well okay, there’s Deadpool, but that’s a cinematic (and it’s still something they would have had to modify for this version).

Me personally? Put A1 on top and A2 on bottom, then just remember that you swap up before you swap down in DHCs and TACs. Which is intuitively what I want to do. But eh, an annoyance, but no dealbreaker.

What’s your point? It’s still a shitty HUD, but gamers are some of the most highly adaptable people on earth when it comes to playing games if for no other reason than the amount of repetition involved. I don’t think anyone said or thought that they’d never get used to it, but the fact that this shit passed and people had to get used to it is dumb.

This thread makes me remember that people whine about everything in this game.

Every single time I play I have to semiconsciously keep track of team state because the HUD at a glance is confusing. I still get the aesthetic choice in the current HUD design, but think that the SUPER AWESOME SHINY DESIGN gets in the way of functionality. Characters in the “312” order and the “hinted at” life bar when the character is dead just get in my logical way, no matter how awesome the art lead thought it looked. :nunchuck: That’s just me, but it really does get in the way for me.

I hope umvc3 gets updated with an OPTION to change the HUD I doubt it but it would be cool, anyways I am pretty use the HUD I don’t like it but I can deal with it

I played Vanilla again about a week ago (I’m an idiot), I felt that the HUD is better in UMVC3. Maybe I’m just used to it, I dunno.

HUD still sucks.

Yea honestly the HUD is still terrible. I just got used to a bit better. It just isn´t as logical as vanilla or pretty much any other fighter lol.

I think it’s dynamic and cool. Character location goes from inside to outside, which is interesting and also easy to keep track of. If you have a hard time with visibility then you are just bad at using your eyes and maybe you should get glasses. I’ve never minded the UMvC3 HUD because I wear glasses. Old layout is boring, new layout is delicious, and if you think otherwise maybe you should update the prescription on your glasses.

I’ve gone back and tried to watch vanilla Marvel tournament videos, and now I find it impossible at times to tell when someone still has X-Factor in the middle of a long match. Whose bright idea was it to make the lifebars glow red???

So in that aspect, I think the new HUD is a success.

Not sure why the revised X-Factor indicator needs to be a tiny line, though. Why not co-opt the dead character slots (if any) to also show the burndown?

The HUD is not bad. Its not really worth complaining about. I have never gotten kill because of the HUD ever in this game. I don’t understand why its bothering you so much. I can see the health bars and everything just fine, and my eyesight isn’t very good at all.

Maybe I just don’t see the big picture. Whats the problem with you guys?
