Seth has low health. has various tools to keep an opponent away. If he’s having no problems keeping you away and clearly frustrating you so he can win, there’s no reason for him to not do so and win. Why mix up his zoning if he’s owning your face?
It sounds like YOU are the one not thinking. You gotta learn how to stalk an opponent. Nuetral jump some fireballs. Focus a few to build that meter.
If he’s really random with his DPs and SPD then backdash or burn that EX Dp. Trade Dp? Hey, it’s in your favor. Maybe you should bait it out.
You gotta keep your cool. You already know once you get in on his ass one good time he’s losing a crap load of health. Get your patience up.
Here’s the thing about calling him a flowchart: If he was actually following the chart the Seth in question would have had absolutely no chance. Wall-jump jump-ins? SRKs are made for that shit.
it does suck that seth can be played like that. i feel you on this. ken has a more limited moveset.
but it also equally sucks that ken has more health and that he has better recovery on his fireball. ken is like regular shoto with a nasty ex dp and some fast rushing normals
true advice: work the clock and work it early. like at 78 seconds if you’re not serious about having more hp than him when the clock goes down you will lose a lot.
or just do an eary air tatsu, but that kind of stuff takes some feeling out and some patience.
that goes high enough to hit him out of anything too high
dp or ex dp for lower heights. i like ken too.
play more characters is the lesson here. if only to learn their weaknesses
