"This camera can record too?" Spider-Man UMVC3 Video Thread

Hmmm, I’m not sure because the UWT grabs during the flash. I can’t remember if you can DHC the flash without the hyper starting.

No depending on the super determines the first available moment to DHC but you can input during the flash but if the super itself says you have to go so many frames before DHC occurs then so be it, which is good for Spidey because he will grab as soon as flash is done so long as webs were already overlaying them

Ok thanks I tried it against my brother (we both play spider-man) but i thought of it and tried it at the last second so it didn’t work.

Nice gameplay from a Spidey player called Sylvano using Spidey/Viper/Wolverine

starts at 1:17 part 3
part 4 is entirely Sylvano vs Ryan
btw I tried adding only hyperlinks but still it transform immediately into media if it comes from YouTube.

Is there a way to stop the forum from transforming my hyperlinks?

I wish I had offline comp to stream on twitch. I’m tired of lag battles. Anyways I just usually write words then hyperlink the words I highlight.

Zro was here…

The match that starts at 1:26:00 part 3 is the perfect example of why Spider-man still needs a space-controlling assist. I recommend everyone focus on this match more than the others.

Edit: The reason being is that he had perfect opportunities to put Strange on lock down but he didn’t have an assist that could manage to do so (unless Wolverine had Beserker Barrage or Berserker Slash, in which case he just never called him). The two moments that irked me the most were when he caught Strange with a grounded Web Ball and when Strange rolled back into the corner during wakeup post-air throw. Sylvano had no chance for a high/low mixup there. =\

Question. I’m working on a tutorial series as everyone will be aware of Saturday but where should I start? Should I start at the bare basics and go with his normals, specials, supers and how all they can be used plus a tip on movement and short combos/beginners combos or should I start somewhere else? I have stuff recorded but I’m so unorganized at the moment that it’s confusing me

Also when I make said series is anyone opposed to me making a thread, not stickied, dedicated to it for visual reference that would be updated for each video? That way, anyone new wouldn’t have to search through all our posts and would get a beginners view on our favorite web swinger without all the confusion?

Yeah, there’s always the issue of figuring out where to start… What if you just have the 1st video be a little of everything? Run through each move quickly, give a general explanation of his style, pros, cons, etc. Maybe even have 1 or 2 beginner BnB’s?

Oh yeah! I forgot that option… Ok I will do that with the first post

I was thinking of doing that but everyone is doing a tutorial in a ‘quick’ manner. I don’t want to bore people to death but let’s look at it real ‘quick’

standing :l: in a quick light
[]Fast move
[
]4-frames
[]Can hit multiple times
[
]Cancel-able
standing :l: with slightly more depth
[]4-Frames, good dash up poke
[
]Can’t be crouched, even by the smallest of characters
[]Hit Confirms into c:l:
[
]Scales combos
[]Good reset tool
[
]Make shift anti air

Can be used in air to ground play to continue combos
Now admittedly, that probably wasn’t the best example to use but think about all the other moves in Spidey’s tool set and how many people actually go into detail about a moves, especially normals, uses. My thing is, by now everyone knows Spidey’s normals, specials, supers but not many people quite understand the other uses those tools could do.

I would have the properties of each move displayed on the screen while you aurally explain the uses of each move. That way, they can pause if they need to read the properties, etc., and you’re not taking up too much time to give a brief explanation of each move. If you really want to fancy this thing up, you could have multi-streamed sequences in insignificant areas of the screen to show the uses of each move, while showing the move itself on the main part.

Just had some great matches at a local yesterday where I took 2nd place. I cracked multiple times due to nervousness but I played well for the most part. Got sent to losers on my first match but clawed my way up to GFs. I was running Spidey/Taskmaster/Doom. Most of my matches start at 0:58:05 part 2 and extends straight to the end. Got taken out by an amazing Zero player so I wasn’t salty lol.

Good stuff!! Only one thing, maybe instead of spider sting after a web ball - zip - :h: confirm, you can use :m: throw then combo for more damage. Otherwise, that was pretty solid play.

a set between two japanese players, the second running spider man/taskmaster/vergil

also it looks like honarabu nippon is not above teabagging

the zero character always makes me salty !

Has Spiderman made an appearance in any tournament footage lately?

Xero, did you ever make that spidey tutorial for machinima? I’m a starting off spidey player, and I’d be interested to see any tips & tricks to up my spidey game.

I submitted one video that I’m waiting to appear on youtube but the first video to the tutorial is almost complete dealing with some beginner things like how his moves can be used, movement, some ‘basic’ bnb’s, partner choices.

If anyone’s interested in watching the long ass set between Xero and I, it’s all being put on this playlist:

Ooohhh some Spidey on Spidey action, I’m in.
