Both chrcs are a pain the ass which is obvious. I personally sometimes prefer missles w/ Doom if its a heavy air dash zero, but in any case use Dooms missles to control airspace & keep Strider off ur back. At the same time use webzip & webthrow like Meduim version to keep zero on the defense. When jumping in the air to air to air against zero be careful attempting to hit confirm j.Mp, cuz half the time they’re looking for the lightning dash. U can close air space better w/ j.Fp or Lp webswing. Shooting webballs out then webziping across the screen after doom assist or dante assist cause most zero players to get hit. More importantly try to spend as little much of time on the ground as possible against zero w/ strider. Remember ur assists r more than just combo extenders, but should be used for defense to protect & enable u to hit confirm. Bee’s whats ur gamertag on xbox live anyway?

Yeah, we played this team first round of Winners and every time I would call an assist to deal with the Strider assist, the Zero player always had a full buster shot waiting and would tag them.
It seemed that I could never get an assist out and he timed his assist call and tagging my assists perfectly every time.

My gamertag is BesstheBees. I haven’t been playing online a lot lately. Mostly just training mode and combos(I have a hard time playing Dante and Spider-Man effectively online because I drop combos in lag a lot.

My new web throw record. I forgot to add meters in before the combo so I wasn’t able to finish with Chaos Dimension for a challenge submission. Anyways, enjoy.

I’m going to be issuing a combo challenge later today after I get off work. It’s a fairly simple idea but it should invoke some creativity.

I blame it on Airborne… shrug

Good stuff! If you move the dummy a bit to the left, you will be able to use a dash under and save on ground bounce for more web throws.:slight_smile: That combo is what I pretty much do online if connection is decent, minus RR assist.

Damn I really wish I had real power right now lol. I noticed that if you dash + airdash too far when you are going for the pick up after web throw and you hit j.:h:, spider-man will end up on the other side of the opponent when you land, so you can go straight into :h: web throw without dashing under and hitting s.:m: s.:h: xx :m: web throw, so that in the end you will have less hit stun deterioration. What I am hoping this would allow me to do is start in the corner, web the opponent into the corner and then back out, and then getting them all the way into the other corner so I can do a kara sting into the :m: web throw fake wall bounce glitch. Not sure how much damage I would actually get from that though.

Yep you’re getting there in idea but it doesn’t save that much hit stun and you’ll be missing some damage but maybe you’ll find something I didn’t.

If it really doesn’t save that much hitstun than that probably won’t happen though. Either way, looking at Raoh’s combo up there with a bunch of web throws, I bet he could make a solo combo better than what I have in mind if he just does a kara spider-sting instead of calling hidden missiles + web throwing.
For the challenge is ok to start off with V. Joe’s slow down super? I wonder if you can get a web throw loop with both that and Ammy’s slow down super.

I was trying to do the cross up :h: web throw back when I was doing the 11 web throw combo but it was very, very strict so I didn’t bother.

Z, install super meters are not included in the bar usage right? If that would be the case, I broke 1m already. Didn’t record it though. If it’s allowed, I got a treat for readers here. Just use Spidey, Ammy and Firebrand then go crazy.

maximizing web throws in a combo isn’t really hitstun efficient since you waste time doing the airdash zip otgs. web throws at the end of combos is where it’s at since it does 40k at max scaling tho

It’s hard to beat starting damage from 2 :l: web throws though.

if you start your combo with webthrow to corner, webthrow out of corner, that’s pretty efficient. HSD timer doesn’t count the cinematic. Even starting it with a few webthrows WITH otg zips shouldn’t be too bad since the webthrows do relatively low amounts of hits for good damage when the damage scaling isn’t so bad.

Optimization will involve more normals/rapid hits in the middle though, since there’s a point where your HSD timer allows for a bunch of other things besides web throws that will do more damage in that amount of time than a scaled web throw. Then near the end of the combo, when HSD is too high for anything to work besides high-minimum hitstun moves, webthrow is actually very good again due to its pretty great minimum damage scaling.

So yeah, pretty important to keep in mind both hitstun deterioration and damage scaling.

Yeah Raoh I figured it’d be too boring if I just left it at 800k solo. The idea is to get flashy no doubt so long as Spidey is the only one hitting them. Unfortunately Desklamp since slow down does damage it would disqualify the combo.

Thats a shame, I definitely look forward to seeing all the crazy combos for this challenge though.
Oh yeah one more thing Z, how is the streaming thing going? Did you manage to set anything up?

I have something set up indeed I just have to figure a good time to stream. I want to stream weekly lobbies. I want to have a variety of players who rotate in and out. I myself won’t be able to play due to me providing all my Internet to the stream itself. Besides most the people who want to play me reside stateside and I so loathe lag battles.

I’m also thinking of more difficult challenges for the future. Like I said before I had to start relatively easy so people give it a shot first but it’s also to help with character development. I enjoy seeing everyone get involved hopefully ill be able to come up with some prizes next time.

Lastly, I’ve started production on the Spidey tutorials. Title name hasn’t been decided on yet but it will be the visual representation of the “One for J.J.” thread. First video will cover normals specials and general movement. Combos will also be covered but in a different series at a later date as I am going to look at a variety of solo combos he has and determine which ones I think are viable and for what reasons. The first series though is to get character understanding out there

Nice, nice. Yeah timing is gonna be hard, but hopefully it will work out just fine. Good luck on the spidey tutorial man, I hope it attracts a lot more spidey users so he isn’t as underused.
