"This camera can record too?" Spider-Man UMVC3 Video Thread

At the end of game one I really think he should have went in with akuma instead of staying back and chucking fireballs.

He had his back to the wall. =\

personally, i see nothing wrong with this due to the fact that his opponent DIDNT know how to handle it. im sure for other Spidey players its “cringe-worthy” to watch but in the end a win is a win right? so many ppl depend on gimmicks like XFactor lvl 3 Albert/D.Phoenix/Strider.
in the end its the opponents fault for not keeping himself informed about known gimmicks like this. even if you dont have match up experience, you can always find new tech (and solutions to avoid them) for any character on the front page of SRK or Eventhubs.

While that is true, it was mainly just a general analysis of his play. Also, it wasn’t just a simple UWT reset that made it so gimmick-based (his was actually more effective than most everyone’s); it was the fact that he had to use an Exchange just to perform the reset, although he could’ve simply raw tagged into Wesker after a ground-bouncing Sting->Bite.

I understand exchanging is one thing to catch an opponent off guard, as well as an UWT reset, but giving the opponent two chances to break makes me a bit too uncomfortable.

Oh, and a win is a win… but he didn’t win. =P

Just skimming the pages but to correct airborne web swing assist is the M version and not the H version. Hence why the properties don’t line up.

I blame Airborne… :lol:o_O shrug

alright, i defiantly agree with you there.

lol, well he did get one round

Funny you say that because both guides have it as Web Swing :h:, dealing 90,000 damage, as well as both saying :h: Web Swing does 90,000 damage.

1 round doesn’t give ya the W though! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Word? Still looks and acts like the :m: version to me, from comboing, countering, and properties.

some Mame Spider footage.

1st match starts around 14:00. he uses some of that Spidey TAC tech.

OK, so xero and I figured it out: the web swing assist is h web swing with the same range and damage, but it has the hit stun properties of m web swing… wtf, capcom.

Man, I would use spider-man’s web swing assist so much more if it was actually H web swing. His assist aren’t very good at all, but that would have been great if it was a soft knockdown.

I love his shirt and hat lol
He comes back at 1:12:00.

For all you people who are still [S]complaining about [/S] having trouble with the web throw combos.

Critique is welcome for camera angle. I’m not able to get the complete bird’s eye view right now because my old tripod sucks and I forgot to look into one while I was at the store… that will be dealt with in the near future.

I’m hating cuz I can :arazz::arazz::arazz:

yeah i mash maximum spider too

i think i should start doing only immediate jump-airdash post web throw instead of dash-jump-airdash. if you do the zip otg starting too low the jS can’t come out fast enough and they’ll actually pop out lol

LOOOOL jellyyyyy

Well, that was just a temporary habit that I had picked up that night, lol.

I never got around to learning the dash-jump-airdash method, but my favorite one has to be plink dash x3, swing zip or sting zip j.:s:.

Speaking of which, I mentioned the idea of me possibly doing a plink-dash tutorial in the Spidey lobby tonight and the idea was accepted rather well. Anyone else want me to follow through with it?

i just try plink dashing whenever i can in training mode til it becomes a habit. it’s one of those things you gotta learn to do subconsciously, either plinkdashing or wavedashing. movement in general has to become more natural. it’s a challenge for spiderman who has all these unique movement options that offers something different and all can be very unsafe if you do them at the wrong times.

one jump airdash seems like it’d be the most consistent because you have the least amount of inputs and i just eyeball the distance anyway

Wrong thread but thanks a ton Airborne for stressing the importance of Plink dashing. I knew it was always there but never thought I needed it. After our Spiderman lobby I thought about it more. Then I saw this.

no spidey in that vid but that shows the potential of getting plink dashing down. Spidey has one of the best PLink dashes along with spidey so to get that down 100% means our Spideys will be that much harder to catch. Been practicing it and I can do it pretty well.

I can wave dash just fine, and try to use it as much as possible when I the air is covered. For plink dashing, do any of you guys do a :b::db::d: :atk::atk: ? I read someone does that in some other thread but I havent had the chance to try it out yet.

i hope to catch brightside on the ufgt stream. i have good hopes for him.
