"This camera can record too?" Spider-Man UMVC3 Video Thread

what bnb’s are you talking about? all of them should still work on zero I haven’t had to adjust anything against him unless he was jumping

my combo is easier on zero and more difficult on wesker lolol. i need to check if it works on sent/dorm size

Yep, Wesker has some weird hitbox which drops him off combos. Even Joe’s easier to combo with his reduced hittable area buff.

hey Xero, i’ve been having a hard time connecting the => web-throw > air-dash > web-zip OTG > j S > st M > cr H

what usually happens is that i get a cr M > cr H if i try to do the inputs too quickly (thus later in the combo the opponent gets juggled too high) or if i wait a split second to make sure im not holding down i get the **s M **but then the opponent techs out. do you have any tips on the timing?

btw, your video is *amazing, *ive been playing it on my laptop so many times during my 1-2 hrs lab sessions. thanks for the effort of putting it together

Thank you. I’m assuming you’re doing web zip while holding down. If so you can go neutral when doing web zip. It tracks in the general location of the opponent.

i actually didn’t think about that lol! thanks man, i’ll try it out next time i have the chance. thanks again

Im still playing spider/dorm/wesker. When ultimate first came out I was excited to learn new chars but then I just decided to be lazy and stick with my old team. I still think they work together well.

hahaha are you referring to team tourney at frosty faustings?Yeah I ocv’d rexxors team twice but I attribute it more to no one knowing the spiderman matchup. A lot of them were trying to rush me down and all I did was fish for L srk’s.

Not sure if any of you guys have seen this. It’s J.Wong testing out Spidey. Skip to around 17 minutes. It got me watching after he did the THC with Nemesis, it’s simple yet pretty sick.

It’s here. I just started watching as I posted this so I have no idea what he’s gonna pull out. He’s struggling with doing a UWT reset at the first few mins though.

Also, he’s got some weird button mash of :h: to get bite, like a quick piano. I personally don’t mash to get the bite but I’d like to know how he gets to press so many :h:s that fast. It’s like 4 fingers on :h:.

Edit: He had it for just a few minutes then changed to another team. There’s no new tech but may give some guys ideas on how to assemble a team. He used Spidey, Nemesis and X-23.

I normally play with the spencer/nova/ironman player and I don’t do L srk enough ;[ once I get hit by spencer i die also :frowning:

Bro, post on the boards more! I’d love to hear what you have to say about the Spidey-Dormammu synergy; I know there’s still something that I’m missing in my guide to them… Speaking of which, I’m guessing you’re using the Dark Hole assist as your space control. How is that going for ya?

I like the synergy with Nemesis, but that doesn’t look like a balanced enough team to me. I haven’t tried to see if Clothesline Rocket is a good assist for space control, nor do I have the numbers at my disposal atm. I’m sure it’s a strong secondary assist, however, since it provides a GTFO button, air space control, and combo extension. That THC is siiiiick, btw!

I’ve grown real fond of my Spidey/Nova/Doom team’s synergy… Nova & Spidey DHC into each other SO well, plus Nova’s B assist gets some easy unblockable setups for Spidey. Tasky is great, but he did help Spidey all that much… so I threw him with Hulk and Sent. and that team is working out nicely

I wasn’t aware you wrote a guide to them. Ill be sure to check it out and steal some of your stuff. I actually think dark hole is an amazing assist in general it just takes awhile to get used to the spacing. Especially with a char like spider man who can switch between run-away/rushdown it benefits both styles of play. My primary use for it though is for defensive purposes so I use it to eat projectiles a lot or section off the stage so I can gain a little breathing room. As far as my offensive uses go I sometimes use it for lockdown in midscreen situations but I have to be really careful with the spacing or I can open myself up to free happy birthdays. One of the best uses I’ve found for it though is forcing block situations on incoming chars.

Do you have any vids your spidey/dorm? I’m curious to see how other people use them together.

He had a solid Spencer from what I remember. Just stick with a hit/run style against him and if you cant break 1 mil burn your x-factor to finish off spencer. Both Nova and IM aren’t prone to making comebacks so leaving them with lvl2/3 x-factor isn’t exactly a big deal. Where are you guys from? I never got around to asking him even though we talked for a little bit before the tourney started.

Yeah, I was actually preaching about how Dormammu is potentially Spider-man’s best partner back in Vanilla. The link to the guide is here: The ULTIMATE, Friendly-Neigborhood, Spider-man Team-building Thread
It’s actually the example in the OP, and I thus didn’t bother to put him in the alphabetical list.

As for Dark Hole, I felt more comfortable using it in Vanilla as a space-controlling assist, but I feel that it’s outclassed by assists that travel fullscreen.

I do not actually have any vids of the dynamic duo together, since I actually ended up dropping him for an assist that would support both Spidey and Nova. HOWEVER, I do need to experiment with a new idea have for my Spidey/Dormammu/Nova team that may make it viable, so I may actually start recording matches of me working with the team so I can study how it works out.

I would heavily disagree with Nova not being capable of making a comeback. Nova with lvl 3 X-Factor is not only one of the scariest things I’ve ever fought against, but it’s also one of the scariest things I’ve used. His pressure upon opponents entering is as ridiculous as it can get due to his :h: Gravimetric Pulse that bring unblockable setups similar to those of Urien’s Aegis setups in 3rd Strike, and you have to have to be wary of left-right, high-low, and throw mixups all *at once. *He can kill you off of anything and everything because he hits like a grown ass man! ;D

even though he’s originally from chicago, we both go to school in austin tx (the zero player was from houston, that’s how they sorta knew each other)

our scene is decent, and having arcade ufo ran by fubarduck is pretty awesome

SOO yeahh, I don’t think I’ll see you that much LOL

So I uploaded this video to work on my editing skills. So enjoy it for what it is but seriously leave comments to let me know about the editing job.

Good stuff, as always.

Here’s my request for the next Spidey video. Something that shows Spidey’s most effective moves, pokes and counters against some of those widely regarded as strong characters in the roster as well as strategies Spidey must avoid using. They’re most probably Wesker, Zero, Spencer, Mag, Dorm, etc. This would definitely open up doors for those who want to pick Spidey up and will in turn make way for some new tech.

Word. I’m actually organizing this footage for the tutorial video now. I uploaded the other one to test out editing tricks so I can see what needs to be worked on before I drop the video that takes the most time. I’ll probably do a couple more character specific videos to see how those turn out.

Make sure there’s anti-XFC lvl3 Mighty Swing info in there. I could use it.

I’m not even sure what you’re referring to but I haven’t played enough Thor’s to know all his bs

Not Thor. Taskmaster.
