Seriously, since OE was announced, EVERY DAY at least 20 people register on GGPO who never touched any fighting game before, they just jump back and forth, mashing hk, FIGHTING the fact them being noobs, insulting me, who just gives them the scrub-treatment by using only down, forth and mp (with any character), etc. etc.
Noobs and pros shouldn’t be playing together without any kind of talk before, the main idea of public servers was always a bad one and no one, absolutely no one can possibly enjoy playing a game when the opponent is absolutely not capable of anything and will definitely never improve, which is not just 1% of all players, but like 95%.
SF3 may be the best fighting game in matter of competition of all times, but if you use it to play against the same players which are the reason why several people STOPPED playing other games like… SF4, BB, or whatever example you want to throw in for an online-fighting title, then SF3 is just as bad, making no fun at all, being one more game you will finally stop playing and never feeling anything good towards its name ever again.
Quake Live didn’t make this mistake, they seperated players CLEARLY in skill levels , Capcom couldn’t even do such a thing even if the entire world would ask them.
SF3 will finally fail this way, mark my words.

B/c of this, I do not agree. I am by no means an “old-school” 3S player let alone an old-school 2dfighter. I did pick up on 3S in 2007, and by chance, the two of the better players in the area at the time were willing to show me the ropes and teach me fundamentals. As everyone here knows, teaching someone literally brand new to fighters takes A LOT of time and effort (I played first person shooters on the PC throughout high school and early college).
I later found that both of them only cared to teach me anything BECAUSE I SHOWED AN EAGER ATTITUDE TO LEARN. I quickly learned that both of them, being as good as they were/are, had their own aspirations to get better. To this day, they are both HUMBLE.
Anyway, over the years, I’ve found myself in the teacher’s seat a few times. A few NEW 3S players want to learn while a lot of them act like they already know everything. I readily help new kids. I eagerly squash the loudmouths.
If a new player is humble, I’ll teach him whatever I know & try to introduce him to people who know more.
