You don’t know what kind of immoral things I would do for anyone who works at Blizzard to immediately remove colossus and give me back reavers. KA for high templars too please
armored core is dope!!
I’d definitely help you move the 3S community over there, man. Shit son. I’d assist in moving the community anywhere that isn’t here. lol.
You knew Mexiran, right? (hopefully)
He was one of the better Armored Core players for a long time.
Niji, maybe this month I’ll worm my way back to ACU for… something. Probably chat. lol.
I don’t know if that guy moved back to cali or something but he used to come to CF a lot, I don’t know if he goes to next level though since I never go myself
I have a match for you to review. I’m the Chun Li, against player Fatbear, at 22:25ish. http://www.twitch.tv/bestbout/b/293346258
Oh my. I totally forgot Yaka was a 3S player. Oh man. I totally gotta shittalk his ass into playing me, hahahaha. I’d probably get raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaped. Chat is about all ACU is up-to nowadays, and nearly every AC site is straight-up dead outside of ACU, haha. Not that we’re not dead too. You know that fucker plays SCBW too? Hahaha, fkn kid. I never found out how good he was at 3S, tho.
Now that I think of it, having a chat feature integrated on that 3S junkies site wouldn’t be a bad idea. Something generic and cheap and/or easy to manage, though I would only recommend something like that as a serious implementation after you’ve gotten really comfortable with the blogs/videos and other content since it’s not a necessity of any kind but rather a convenience. Especially with that shitty 3SO matchmaker. Either way, I’m willing to help out in whatever way I can. I spend most of my day at work just browsing ACU/TL/SRK anyway. Selling liquor to drunks is a hard job, yo.
I definitely think sticking to the blog/podcast/videos is better for the first month though. A lot of new small sites make the mistake of trying to push too many things at once and try to suck in people hard to start and that barely ever works out well. Those podcasts alone have enough potential to pull people to the site slowly to start while you guys work on stuff.
I bet Yaka plays Chun. That cunt.
Well, I know that he was a Q player back when ACO was still up and GGPO-people considered him to be one of the best Q’s in the country (at least online), so I’d hope he plays Q. lol.
Yeah thats pretty much how I feel. The main goal of the site is to provide 3s content that addresses higher level stuff than you see on forums, and just in general try to help 3s players improve.
In the meantime as far as just getting to know eachother, matchmaking, etc. we just use the facebook group.
As/if the site grows there will be more opportunities for people to jump in and help out, although right now I’m just focusing on getting the people already involved to start creating content!
Yah, I feel ya.
Idk if you guys have considered it, you probably have, but you may want to do something like tutorial videos or podcasts or something specifically centered around some matchups that you guys know well. Stuff like Urien vs Chun, etc, and how people should approach the match. I suppose you could do them in blogs too, but most kids are dumb lazy when it comes to that kinda stuff and barely ever seem to register the advice in their heads if they read it. I don’t get it, myself.
As much as I know a lot of newer kids won’t really like the idea since they’re more concerned about tiers/character matchups, I would love to hear stuff about the old 3S scene here in the US and about the JP scene in general. I was only introduced to 3S a little under a year ago, never heard any mention of it before in my area. I had tried out Ibuki in SSF4 and liked her and a buddy told me she was a character from 3S, so I went and got GGPO and tried out her out there and was amazed, from there I looked up players like Aruka and Red and stuff and just fell totally in love with the game. I’ve been following BW scene for like 6 or 7 years now and AC scene too, but not this one. I basically missed out hard, haha. I remember reading that one of the podcasters wanted to focus on future stuff though, and that makes sense, tbh.
I definitely liked the first podcast. Third was good too, but I’ve read so much stuff already that it was more re-iteration for me. Haha. For anyone who is new to 3S and hasn’t listened to the third podcast you shoooouuuuuuuld. Wow. Should looks fucked up when you stretch it out.
That’s a nice little website you’ve here here :), I’m glad that we’ll finally be able to have a dedicated place for 3S. I still don’t get why Eventhubs didn’t have all the characters guide sections until a few days ago. Over here, we’ve only got messy thread and information divided everywhere. I really appreciate what you are doing for the community by making this.
Are you going to update its looks to have more 3S elements by the way?
Same here, I would really like to hear about stuff like that.
Aesthetics I’m not too worried about at the moment. I’m sure the design will continue to evolve but pushing out content is the highest priority.
get out of my mind!
Articles on specific matchups are actually one of the things I’m pushing everyone involved to write on the most. Imo even reading about matchups you never play (I play Gouki so obviously I don’t know shit about something like Dudley v Necro) helps with refining your thought process approaching your own matchups.
I wasn’t planning on podcasts about the 3s scene and its history, but we’d definitely love to do one! MattxChin in particular is a great story teller for the 3s scene (I think the out of state guys who came to Sunroute can vouch for this) so we will definitely put something like this together for you guys. If there is one thing I never get sick of, its talking about 3s in Japan
Thanks for your and everyone elses kind words about the website and podcast. I wasn’t sure how people would react to it but its inspiring! The site is just done out of love for the game so as long as you guys get something out of it we’ve achieved our goal
something in the vain of “super turbo saturdays” could be a good idea. starting with some of the most common match ups like yun v chun might not be a bad start either. in fact with the wealth of high level matchs already up on youtube it might not take much to pause/play/rewind and commentate over a couple.
I would love to do something like super turbo saturdays, although I have no clue how to do it!!
Anyway, finally released ep 2 with RYAN aka let blood run.

Let me know what you guys think!!
Whoa I’ve been waiting on that podcast. Ill try and give it a listen.
I’m just sayin. Forums are nice. Also yeah stories are sick, always need more stories. Aside from that I want to remind you to try and give the east coast some love. Either that or we will have to make a rival podcast hosted by scrubs.
haha trust me we will be inviting some EC heads for sure. It’s just been easier so far to plan with people locally. Although I will say at the moment I only really have in mind the people I’ve actually met from the EC, which isn’t that many people, so if you or anyone else has a request for someone in particular please let me know, as I’m not as familiar as I’d like to be with the EC scene.
Also sorry in advance for the audio quality. Theres a couple annoying feedback noises in there and I’m no audio expert so I didn’t know how to get rid of em but they are infrequent so I don’t think its really that bad.
Honestly the biggest thing holding me back from forums is I always think it looks wack when sites have forums that nobody uses, and I don’t feel like the site is big enough, or will get big enough anytime soon to have a solid forum. Maybe I’m wrong??
sweet. thanks for the second show. About the forums…I’d wait and see. Still a little too early to commit imo.
Nice! Good stuff.
I’m up in the facebook group. Johnathon Braxton (JB) is da name.
this is sweet 8).
