Tired of having my game freeze to salty rage quiters. Plus the leader boards aren’t even accurate, so what’s the point?
I haven’t played ranked in awhile either… the patch should fix things up, and I’m pretty sure the ranks are going to be reset.
Also, I’ve tried to use the TU4AR rank page tonight, and nothing shows up… maybe the boards are being reset tonight?
Weekly rankings always seem fine to me… ?
I never understood the point from the beginning, except to get some random games in if you need a fix. who cares about the jank ranks/leaderboards anyway? do you win a cookie or something?

you can get some random good challenges. especially if you wanna try out low tier. anyway, when you are awake at the hours most of your friendslist of players are asleep, you can always count on random ranked matches.
otherwise, yeah, setting up a room is superior. I don’t get the people who truly care about ranked :xeye:
it also seems some people’s systems have a worse reaction to getting RQed on than others
idk if ya guys have this problem, but when ya about to win…the game suddenly freezes and u have to hard reset. like rank for me is shit now because i cant go up or down i am stuck in overall. weekly is fine for me…but its that freezing shit…so annoying. Like usually in rank i run into ya, then end up with random good mexican players…sucks that it lags…then after that it turns mad shitty people…for a while too…i get happy when i see observedego or someother name i know is gonna be fun to play…then when i see XXxThugger4lifXXx i am like…oh hell no lol
Ranked helps ensure that people are being serious and not picking throwaway teams. In most cases, anyway. Also keeps the mix of people you play random. I don’t like sitting in a room with people who pick completely mindless teams.
As far as rankings, I only pay attention to weekly and just try and keep myself in the top 50. Just a benchmark to keep myself in shape. With how weekly ranks drop fast if you don’t play daily, it gives me a small goal to work towards when I log in.

The thing that’s nice about ranked is you’re guaranteed to play, and don’t have to wait.
Joining player matches sometimes means sitting through watching bonerine/hayato/akuma mirror matches going town to timeout, and if you join as they’re picking teams, you get to watch the lifebars barely move.
I haven’t seen teams like Jill/Strider/Hayato on ranked, nor do I want to. 
And if I did, it’s likely the best of the best who are messing around, but still play well enough to provide a challenge to someone on my skill level.

Honestly, I run up against 90% throwaway teams on Ranked, and about the same ratio for PLayer.
yes plenty of jill/hayatos/guiles/etc…I do. either way, your “absolute” post was incorrect, that’s all. I for one use ranked to play low tier a lot (throwaway teams)
Agreed that I see no difference in good teams on ranked or player. It’s 90% Wolverine/Guile teams either way, and I’m forced between picking a joke team and then seeing that it was finally one of the 10% waiting to pick team scrub, or saying screw waiting and picking a real team and then seeing it’s someone playing Hayato.
One thousand times this. When I finally find someone from SRK who is willing to play for an extended period (Derek, you are gdlk Sir.) it makes you realize just how nice online Marvel could be.
People who rage quit in ranked and player matches really need to either stay to themselves, or play offline.
The way ranks are determined in the first place makes the leader boards a joke. Because of peoples rank up shenanigans it will never be an accurate way of assessing a players true skill.
I will continue to play online, but only with people from SRK, and the few players online that love this game and are striving to improve.

Well the new patch seems to have fixed it, although I haven’t played it much.
Point taken, it’s not an absolute. But if I saw a throwaway team and your XBL handle, I know it’s not something to be taken lightly.
The urge to get to the of the leaderboard is gone really especially when you beat people way higher than you and not get anywhere top 200’s fine for me anyways lol
