Things you just don't understand about ST

What do you do then? Invincible reversal? Would a flash kick even hit? I guess just eat the slide…

It only works on shotos I think, so your safe family man.

Even if it worked on Guile (which I don’t think it does), you would still have some options (Bison’s cross-under slide after a throw in the corner works on almost everybody, so this is similar to that).

Reversal Flashkick should work. Even if it doesn’t hit (or goes in the wrong direction), at least you’re somewhat out of trouble.

Reversal Throw is always the best bet. Just piano all your throw buttons and it should throw Sim and Bison right out of their slide every time.

And I don’t think it’s actually unblockable like someone mentioned. It is blockable, but the timing is very iffy and is not always the same direction every time, which makes it hard to block cuz it’s not a consistent thing (but Bison’s slide-under is almost always consistent).

I could be wrong, but it’s not technically unblockable. I’m sure if you did the same thing to a CPU opponent, they’d be able to block it everytime cuz the game can read which is the right way to block on a frame-by-frame basis. So a human opponent could guess and be able to block it if they were correct.

It only works on Ryu and Ken indeed. You might be right Blitz, there might be an input to press at a very precise timing, making it not unblockable truly. But that’s to be verified, because I’ve done this shit like 1435 times and it hit 1435 times lol. Only escape is reversal dp, which works 100%.

It’s extremely ambiguous and isn’t a true unblockable.

Oh, well lucky me

Somebody used it on me and I did block it like once. Out of like 10 or 20 times.

i just learned a LOT about st…

I never understood how can I jump in on someone, hit them, and then hit them again for a combo, BUT THEY GET RESET. How do you jump out of combos?

I noticed that this especially happens to bison the most. You hit him with a 3 hit combo, all of a sudden after 2 hits he just flips out of the combo like WTF?

Well, Bison players like to jump out of stuff a lot and sometimes try to anti-air with jump strong. Maybe it has to do with hitting someone during the prejump frames.

yes, hitting during prejump frames is the answer, probably only happens when the hit is during the last pre jump frame, but since bison only has 2 pre jump frames, he is able to escape easier than anyone else.

First hit the oponent is barely on ground, by the second attack, oponent is already in air, so a third hit wont happen.

A DP is towards, down, down-towards, the directions don’t dictate which way the move goes. Moves always come out towards the opponent, there is no such thing as a ‘backwards’ move (which is why the term ‘auto-correct’ irks me) If your opponent cross over you after you’ve input the directions but before the button press, it’ll come out in the opposite way to the directions you were pressing.

Throw range in sweeping distance. It is abnormal.

Dhalsim has long arms so it makes complete sense.

Realizing this, Sagat’s throw range oughta be 40 pixels minimum.

throw range probably based in genitalia size, it seems the only explanation to it… weird japanese ppl.

I actually think it’s pretty ridiculous that Dhalsim’s throw range is so ridiculous. You give him some of the best zoning abilities in the entire game, AND an extremely powerful throw? Ridiculous.

Heck. Balrog’s st.fierce has a physically impossible range. It’s his his arms are vastly longer than his legs. If his throw range was as long as his arms, he could grab you from mid screen. lol.

Speaking of Balrog(Boxer), how it is that he’s the only character capable of canceling a special move into super. Also, how do you do it?

Then why does Fei Long have the worst throw range in the game?

What? No he can’t. Are you talking about how he’s able to whiff a rush punch into super?
