Things you dont like about SSFIV

LMFAO. read this very slowly:

some of us do not want to host a 1v1Endless (waiting; 1v1dumping*); some of us do not want to invite friends (more waiting); some of us do not want to scan Endless Battle for that 1-in-50 1v1match.

PlayerMatch meant the world to some of us… it meant I could get off work, crack open a brew, and find a good-ping unranked match within SECONDS. Capcom has killed all that. It’s a fact.

(* 1v1dumping is what I’ve dubbed this event: someone joins your 1v1Endless (quick; blind) expecting a 4-8player Endless and immediately quits. More waiting.)

I feel you man. I tried hosting 1vs1 Endless, and no one joined. I mean, even the longest waits for someone to join me in a Championship final in Vanilla couldn’t compare. The closest thing to Player now (in terms of speed of getting matches) is Ranked, it seems. Unfortunately, you won’t be playing a series of conseuctive matches with the same person if you desire. I feel you, man. Endless doesn’t SUCK, but it does SUCK up a lot of time. Whether you’re coming from work or going to work, you just feel like it is taking too much time to get into matches. And anything could happen when you finallly get there. I got booted by a host I beat yesterday after waiting in line. I’ve been booted after waiting and not even playing a single match. I’ve gotten to the front of the line, only to find an incredibly laggy match that wasn’t apparent from the signal strength signs. I’ve gotten to the front and then folks started retiring from the session, leaving me as the host and perhaps a ghost to play with… I like the idea, and I think it should remain a feature for folks who love it but I can’t make this my primary online mode.

  1. no post-round hits (and lets be honest, i miss tbagging. some people deserve it)

  2. having to re-rank. high G-1s in vanilla was a nice place to go if you want to at least play ppl who know what theyre doing.

  3. everyone hates color 12.

im digging (almost) everything else though. on the plus side, leveling up from scratch does encourage you to try out new characters, otherwise peeing on everyone with my main (abel) gets boring pretty quickly. team battle and endless are sweet, just wish there were ranked versions of both. at the end of the day, im still gonna be sinking ridiculous hours into this game.

:shake:

I think this game is fucking horrible

what I don’t like about SSFIV: My execution isn’t good enough for ibuki, makoto or dudley

lul

Aside from Ibuki’s shitty health and Makoto being slightly harder to use this time around they’re still more fun and easier to play than most of the SF4 original roster.

Dudley is so braindead easy lol.

I’m starting to hate the online. I was sitting around for a good 5-10 minutes waiting for someone to come to my 1v1 room and no one ever showed up. The match lobby is shit but its more on the players making the lobbies fault than capcoms. Sure being auto-booted from the lobby for losing is lame as shit and so is waiting for your turn but who are the fucking idiots adding 6 rounds and allowing up to 8 players to be in their lobby?

Or play 3s. I don’t want to sound like an elitist fucker but 3s still shits on this shit. Capcom still isn’t putting their all into it.

Why is 3S better than SSF4.

Because 3S is a Street Fighter game. SSF4 is not.

starting to miss player matches and championship mode

What I hate more than anything about SSFIV?

Where the hell is Cody’s win pose where Edi. E chases after him?!

player matches were the best way to PLAY the game, endless involves waiting around watching people play and not actually playing. at first i thought endless would be the same but in a given hour i play about 1/4th the amount of matches i could play in player match mode in vanilla.

so yeah, bring back player matches OR ALLOW US TO SEARCH FOR ENDLESS LOBBIES BY THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE ALLOWED IN A LOBBY

So I guess in your estimation, if they ever did release 3S on Xbox Live, SSF4 would die out immediately, since, you know, everything you say is fact.

You are really really wrong. SSF4 is much more like every other Street Fighter game. The entire 3 series is one big anomaly.

Why does everyone want player match? Is playing randoms really that necessary? 1 out of 10 will be any good, just find some peeps on here to play with.

That’s what I don’t get. I’d hate to be in a one-on-one room with PSN randoms. I never went to an open Player Match in SF4.

But to be fair, when you have no close friends who are into the game (which should change for me with Super) and you’re at a lower level than most SRKers, Player Match can sometimes be the only solution.
It does suck though, I’ve only ever found a couple of players I’ve had loads of fun playing. If they’re too good, they’d quite after a couple of matches (most likely from boredom) and vice versa.

IMO

Watching is quite important too, as instead of daydreaming/whinning, you should be watching the other players’ tactics and provide a counter tactic. It is a cycle but everyone improves quite a bit.

Also unless I want to play a certain number of matches against one person, I think having a lobby of 4-6 equal players is a lot more conducive to improving.

It is much closer to an arcade experience, where if you lost, you’d have to watch the next guy and try to figure out the winner’s tactics. JWong/Daigo etc all played this way in the arcades and JWOng even talked about how he would lose and then watch the next match and think about why he lost and then put another coin in. It’s a faster way to get better and constantly playing one person only results in stagnating each others level/ability.

The other good thing about Endless with a group, is that it also helps with tournies (& arcade matches). Why? Well in a tourney (& the arcade), you don’t know how your opponent will play and the constant changing of opponents in Endless will lead to you being able to adapt very quickly to another opponent’s method (also why the top players can read their opponents so quickly, as they have a lot of match experience against a diverse number of players).

Also, lol at the dickhead who thinks SSF4 isn’t Street Fighter. Yeah, I know let’s make an even more technically challenging game than SF3, with an even higher skill entry level so then we can kiss the SF franchise goodbye for good! High Five!"/jk

SF3 was hated until you lot were shown how to actually play it. Fucking morons.

…I was QUITE sure everyone bitching about player matches being 1 on 1 are the same people who wanted an actual lobby “Like HDR”.

you guys are just finding anything to bitch about at this point. Especially since you can just make a 1 on 1 room open. But I keep forgetting this is the internet. People do more bitching than anything.
