There will be arcade AC at Evo

and when you have all the money to haul all those cabs around to 4 parts of the country and have enough for pools where evo doesn’t get ass raped monetarily (not to mention some people like american and some like jap which with console isn’t a problem) you tell them how to do that in the mean time we’re playing slash a game thats barely a fuckin year old stop complaining cause no one wants to play a game that they’ve never played at all and only 2 places in the country have what are you smoking clearly its made you delusional

please stop riding japan’s dick this isn’t japan this isn’t sbo we doing what we do they do what they do in the end we giving out more money we win

I was gonna say the same but figured I’d come off as harsh. I mean I love my Japanese games but…yeah.

the reason the majority of tekken players play on pad is most of them rather play on console, leading to many pad players. That is why they put the ports for the pad players in the arcade.

Unless it was designed for players to bring a joystick to the arcade(oxymoron).

It’s definitely a pad thing. I don’t know if they do the same thing at the Japanese arcades. I would guess not since everyone plays on sticks in Japan and going into a Japanese arcade with a PS2 pad would probably get you strange looks.

they’d know that you were immediately American.

Correct me if I am wrong, but are we(Americans/Canadians) the only people in the world that would use a pad at the arcade? I even doubt that South America does it.

You said clearly that it represents a backwards mindset and the format was ‘retarded’. If something had those characteristics, you would also be crazy for liking it, so either you don’t like it, you’re crazy, or it’s not really that retarded and backwards.

Noone seems ‘set’ on using consoles, they are just using whatever tool is best for the job. Several cases happened where the consoles were not the best for the job:

-3s was on supergun because noone really knew what it was like on PS2, and people were already coming on the basis of a big 3s tournament.

-A3 would have been on arcade if it was voted in, because no console port was acceptable.

-Evo North is partially arcade because it is also MWC, a tournament that actually specializes in providing arcade cabinets when possible.

While everyone can evaluate what formats are best, there is absolutely no expectation for a US tournament to be arcade, unless it is actually in an arcade, or unless it was announced as arcade and people bought tickets already. I don’t know why people are expecting excuses to be given when there’s nothing to excuse here.

Your forgetting that Evo finals also have a stage (although it was front, not center, so sue them I guess), and big screens for everyone to look at as well. So your missing a few things in the comparison.

Once we make the comparison equal, what is left, is it arcade vs console? not really, both events are just using whatever the players use, so they are actually the same there.

They only look different because japanese people sit and play on a big cool looking box, and US people don’t. Yes I agree that big cool looking boxes look more professional than sitting on the floor, but that is not an arcade vs console issue, its a “we don’t have 40 of a cool looking box” issue.

Not nessecarily, for instance the super bowl was played in a rainy open field, while most of the Colts’ qualifying wins were at home in the Dome (their 4 losses were all away games).

As mentioned in another thread, People can qualify for tennis seeds based on all of their wins regardless of surface.

In baseball every field has a different outfield fence, affecting how hard it is to hit a home run.

In each case it was decided that while the differences were enough to give certain players/teams an advantage, it doesn’t hurt the overall integrity of the sport.

FM just straight preachin on niggaz…holeluya
