It gets better … I’ve been tentatively told that my full wish list(?!? - see below) will be implemented against a custom version of TDC v2. I don’t think it gets much tighter than that. We’ll see if this actually happens.
But yeah, np on that, Kuenai. But you have to pick up your hoodie too.

Yeah, I’m interested to see what cool ideas people come up with. Obviously, black, white, and red should be popular, but orange, yellow - you could do anything.
After playing you and others playing Megaman/cable/tron, I’ve kinda wondered… does the team really win by exploiting the opponent’s lack of knowledge of that team? It seems like when I play you, I’m sure I have a free character, but you pull another trick out that just doesn’t seem like it should work.
How does the team work? Mind explaining some of the tactics it works around? Tricks?
Who else plays Megaman/Tron? It’s a horrible team. Megaman/Cable/Sentinel is much more well-rounded. Megaman/Cable/Blackheart is also pretty effective.
If you describe to me what you’re talking about or refer me to a match, I’ll try to help.
My play of that team is much like when I play as Tron: I generally know how you’re likely to punish/attack Tron, so I’m pretty much trying to countermove you all game long. Sometimes it gets to my knowing to counter your counter to my counter since it’s all known chains of events. By this I mean it’s situational: I’ve been there before and can probably predict what’s going to happen. I’ve watched a lot of videos and know a fair amount about Marvel technically. My execution SUCKS, though, since I played mash-friendly Mortal Kombat (which you can literally mash out combos on - just pound the buttons and watch) and actually made it a point for a while to do the combos wrong (pressing wrong inputs + the right ones) just because I thought the game engine was stupid. Anyways.
Um. I’d rather you figure out how to beat it then tell you how to beat it. After all, I’m not emotionally invested in destroying the playability of my primary team. But I will make minor pointers/etc where valuable if you make specific references. And usually after matches I’ll comment on anything I really notice.
Well, nvm to the original question, then. One thing against any team with powerful assists- some seem to come out even though the main character has been hit. IIRC, the assist character should jump out and taunt, then leave, correct? Especially against Tron, Cyclops, and CapCom, this just doesn’t seem to happen as much. How long is the window between the Assist call and a definite attack by the assist?
I’ll try figuring the other things out next time we play. You’ve been a great help in figuring out the technical side of the game.
man so i went to evo this year. i didnt compete because i havent played since i graduated college two years ago, where i used to play daily at the hub. i mean occasionally in a blue moon ill play, but usually its at gameworks, and its only to make a drunken ass out of myself.
but it was fun playing marvel casually with some friends. its almost to the point where i would go through the trouble of buying a DC and a joystick.
i think the biggest problem i have is i dont know how to do unfly combos. playing at the hub, i just learned the bread and butter combos, but i was never able to match the 100% combos off of say… a sentinel jumping light kick, or a sentinel fierce throw in the corner, of the really good players. cause despite being called the scrub hub, there were some really good players there (when they werent pissed off at how shitty the controls were )
SO.
WHAT ARE SOME EASY UNFLY COMBOS TO LEARN (WITH CYKE OR COMMANDO AS ASSIST)? im sure i could look this up in the marvel strat thread but im lazy.
also, what are some good chip pressure strings with sentinel while he’s flying? i have no clue what im doing here. i notice other peoples chip strings are extremely tight, do far more damage and are harder to escape even with pushblocking.
I can say with a fair amount of certainty that not knowing unfly combos is not your biggest problem. Really the bread and butter combos are enough; especially with sent/commando. Focus on learning stomping patterns and zoning with mouth beem.
(edit: why is there a laughing face up there? i didnt put that there)
