I’ll be booking my ticket this week - I’ll be going early with Gina (who’ll be taking off Saturday), and I believe leaving on Tuesday. Tickets are supposedly around $250 right now, which is a pretty good price.
I don’t like that everyone and their fucking mom uses cable in their team at gameworks. I thought peeps got over all the srubby ass garbage six years ago.

The problem you have in playing in a mixed environment is that some people are going to use fun teams, and some people are going to use tournament teams, and some people are going to use some level of very exploitable low tier teams (Silver Samurai’s Raimeiken, Colossus’s 50%+ combos, Tron-Y, Megaman’s Ey, Chun Li’s air movement + stomp NJ reset, etc) . I love playing low tier (as do a lot of players), but it sucks to use Team Shoto and then have the next eight people pick MSP or a Sentinel+AA based team. You can win against that, but it’s kind of a boring lop-sided fight - you’re forced into tailoring your game against them, as opposed to being able to be a little more open with your game plan.
Cable is a goddamn great equalizer. If it’s scrubby, beat it down - it’s pretty easy to take down scrubby Cable.
I will certainly play any team or not play any given character by request, although if I see Mag/Sent/Storm/Cable + AA, I’m kinda boxed into counterteaming to some extent.

I agree. Thing is, at GW anways, I’ll bust out my beastly colossus/sent/cykez and get a few wins, next thing I know I’m playing a full on team scrub. I’ll take on MSP and MSS all day thanks to my training at UW and I’m not ragging on good cable players, but do people really need to pick teams like magz/cable/capcom, xxx/cable/capcom to beat my colossus? That’s just me, I stopped picking cable and capcom when I realized that winning with such teams wasn’t as challenging or fun anymore.

The reason for Wenzars’ post is this pablo, Seattle is home to some of the greatest cable players in the world, Shit… Cable is kinda of a staple of our scene. Those who hate cable just don’t understand his struggle. The fact of the matter is that cable is at a very big disadvantage when fighting one on one, therefore if you get rid of comando then cable is basically useless, unless your name is Row.
That being put aside me and wenzel were thinking of going to Gameworks tonite around 9ish not to say anybody really reads these boards anymore but is anybody down?

Any Team> any of my retarded teams. As for the scrubs, well I meant the more common GW players. The teams usually consist of two low tiers and cable, or team scrub.
