Any team, Zero can combo from full screen into Lightning Loop.
The most common combo extenders are hidden missiles, jam session, Eye of Agamotto,Drones, I mean practically every assist under the sun can extend a Zero combo but you typically want lockdown assists that can fill up space.
I agree with this, not enough zero + beam use
I’ve been in a team crisis with zero (seems like a common thing)
But today I’ve been trying Zero/Dante/Mags, and it seems extremely good for Zero, while still optimizing Dante if Zero dies, and apparently Mags is a good anchor, but mine sucks right now
The weirdest thing about disrupter is how fast it is, I’m used to using plasma beam so I suck at confirming with it
I’m looking for one like Dr Doom’s Assist to get a lot of extra damage before I start the lightning loop, I’ve been going with Zero, Dante ( jam session ), and Sentinel, But if I start combo off sentinel’s drones, I don’t know how to end it with LL after using Jam Session, I can only end it in Taste the Rainbow
Personally I think Zero does better with slow projectile assists (Sentinel, Arthur) than fast projectile assists. The only thing beams do for Zero other than the obvious, is keep the opponent’s assists in check. But even then, that’s something Zero can do himself with a level 3 buster shot since that penetrates characters.
I haven’t thought of Arthur, Maybe I’d like him better than sentinel… I just wanna do tons of easy damage that’s why I’m curious of assists to use in combos
That is Marn’s old team in vanilla and he made it work pretty well. I can see that it will still work well in umvc3 also. Sent is still a good anchor. I use him in second position on my alternate team of zero/sent/akuma. Dante is one of zero’s best friends but I refuse to use the guy. Not because he is hard but rather I just don’t like using him in general. My good friend I play with is a Dante master too. Probably why I dislike him so much lol.
I’m still on the fence when it comes to Sent because I’m not sold on his anchor abilities due to matchups. Meaning I’d have to put him second which means the team I’d want to use (Zero/Sent/Doom) is still fudged when it comes to anchor.
If I did use Sent, it’d have to be something like Zero/Sent/Nova, Zero/Sent/Mags, or Zero/Sent/Ironman - I really wish Ironman was just a smidge better.
Also wanna mess around with Zero/Jill and Zero/Joe.
I am trying to learn to play Jill and Strider so i made a quite random team of Jill/Zero/Strider to play casually.
Jill moon kick allow an easy corner to corner combo for zero (starter that end midscreen, dive, assist hit relaunch). You can DHC easily from Jill to Zero at the last hit of her DP hyper. Immediatly into rekkoha or by waiting a raction of a second into genmu zero.
Except for those easy things, i found her teck slightly awkward to use for the moment but i can see her potential if you get use to feral cancel and her movement.

anyway, about zero team building
the teams am running mostly have both Dorm and Zero (on point/2nd) respectively (been using since vanilla)
as for anchor, i have akuma (tatsu) dante (jam) Deadpool (quick work) Iron man (beam)
honestly, for tourneys i either go for akuma or dante. akuma is a better anchor but jam is a better assist
but i can’t just make up my mind so HELP!!!
i love iron man thats why i play him casually and the beam is really helpful for BOTH DORM AND ZERO.
hell if i can play him really well he might be just the man for me. (hate mags and doom)
Deadpool (i like him and i choose QW for the unblock able)
gameplan : dorm on point - spam anchor assist - chip and fish for cross up j.s (not gone go deep into my dorm plan)
chaotic flame as combo ender then get zero in for LL for a kill OR just for his advanced assist (srk or hadangeki)
zero’s plan when dorm’s dead is basically the usual lvl 3 busters and raikousin all over the place till their opened up… jam for combo extenders whatsoever or tatsu for high/low - right/left mixups
if he’s dead oh well, then its anchor time. which is mainly my issue
SO, QUESTION IS - AKUMA (TATSU) OR DANTE (JAM) . AND WHY?
and besides from that, how good do u think deadpool is for this team?
After a long character crisis in terms of choosing my anchor, I’ve finally settled on Zero/RR/Ammy. In a sense it’s a Point/Point/Anchor team, even though log trap is super good as an assist. Even though the DHC synergy between Zero and RR is kind of meh (at least if Zero starts it), it doesn’t really matter as I’m trying to learn the LL for all my TOD needs.
I don´t really think that Zero/Vergil/Arthur is that good of a team.
Vergil tends to burn too much meter and Arthur NEEDS those meters or else he’s a pretty bad character…
Arthur jumps from bottom tier without meter to pretty solid with at least 3 meters to spend to top anchor with meter + xfactor 3.
Zero/Vergil/Arthur seems to be the classic Battery/Meter user/Anchor team, but Arthur REALLY needs that meters to make his comebacks, meter management in this team will be HARD.
That said, yeah, Zero/Dante/Arthur is surely better, Jam Session is a better assist to Zero than anything Vergil could offer and Dante can fight using less meter than Vergil so he won’t cripple Anchor Arthur that much.
I’ve been messing with Zero/???/Arthur teams since vanilla, My last main team in Vanilla for that matter was Zero/Phoenix/Arthur and it was surprisingly strong.
Dark Phoenix xfactor 2 + daggers assist or Dark Arthur (if Phoenix died before transforming) were both quite retarded.
In Ultimate I’m maining Zero/Firebrand/Arthur and it’s working, both Zero and firebrand are pretty good as batteries, both are safe as hell, all three have awesome projectiles, Firebrand and Arthur are both retarded in xfactor lv3…
Both characters benefit greately from Daggers assist, and THCs are nice unblockable setups.
Rekkoha DHC into Dark Fire does so much damage (about 380k full scaled) it’s weird
I just put three characters I have a lot of fun playing, luckly it was possible to make this team work
