Weasel shot is a great rushdown assist for both Zero and Dante. Jam session is good for combos but Weasel shot really helps those characters’ neutral games.
Jam Session helps Zero all the time always. Zero doesn’t really need an assist to help approach, although it helps when you do. Jam Session is good for neutral game and for combos. Weasel shot only helps in neutral because it can’t help Zero’s combos nearly as well.

If you don’t use samurai edge you’re throwing away super-easy unblockable.
Zero is always unblockable.
I’ve tried jamsession and it REALLY helped a lot with anti-airs and I got my ender extended, w/ dhc to dante I do about 1mil with only 2 meters, and I switched to sentinel and my offense is sustained a lot more. I’m really liking this teams synergy, now all I have to do is get my dhc glitch with dante more consistant and ill be good

Zero doesn’t really need the unblockable because he already has Sougenmu+Jam Session and even then it doesn’t matter because it’s not hard to open someone up anyway. Also anyone who plays Zero with an OTG assist is a scrub, jus’ sayin’.

If you want to setup unblockables with Zero, you should probably use Felicia. She’s good for Dante too and a strong anchor.
zero with samurai edge unlocks a full screen super jump buster into otg pickup (w/ light command dash first), as well as full screen grounded lvl 3 into otg pickup… chris g was doing this stuff 3 months ago, i’m surprised no one has really tried tapping into it
doing cooler/slightly more damaging combos doesn’t make you a better player
i’d take more options to open opponents up than an extra 50k any day
(I am aware of the dash tiger knee sentuizan, but honestly I’ve only seen frieda do it consistently and even he’s scared to try it in situations where a samurai’s edge pickup would have been absolutely cake to hit)
Cloud does the same with the Dash TK OTG + Akuma assist, and he hits it every single time he connects a buster. And then you have Akuma assist which does give you more options to open opponents up.
And doing more damaging combos does make you better because you’re doing more damage.
And of course by November none of that will matter.
I don’t even think Wesker and Zero have much synergy, but that’s just me. In his place you could have put Ammy Dante and Magneto, all of which have DHC glitch options, and better assists for mixups. They also give access to more damaging combos from their assists. Wesker assist just lets scrubs OTG because they can’t do j.236H into the assist ender. On top of that, I don’t think Zero even provides much for Wesker.
I agree that Samurai edge is more useful, especially if you already have someone who can extend the combos. Being able to convert random busters into death with no effort is pretty big.
However I don’t believe in Zero+ Wesker. Wesker really doesn’t add anything to zero’s game besides having the one of the best anchors if Zero ends up getting bopped early.
Did I just read a post implying that pressing A+B then tiger knee hadoken is impractical stuff that only Japanese players can hit consistently o_O.
Wesker + Zero isn’t bad, the OTG pickup is nice, other than that they don’t have any special synergy other than being two great point characters.
An optimized Zero team has 1 rushdown cover assist and 1 combo extender assist. We’ve known this for a while.
i never said it was impractical… I merely said there are specific ranges a samurai’s edge would hit where a dash TK otg would be very improbable if not impossible
This was in regards to someone saying playing Zero with an otg assist is automatically a “scrub”… if in fact samurai’s edge didn’t give Zero extra range to combo on his buster then you can chalk it up to being lazy… but it does

An optimized Zero team has 2 rushdown cover assists, 2 combo extender assists, 2 pinning assists, 2 assists for hienkyaku mixups, and 2 assists for zoning and keepaway.

I see what you’re saying. Zero can dash up and launch even before they hit the ground if you’re fast enough. I hope Zero still has practical means of comboing from buster in Ultimate.
Well the team is well good just lacks hp now everyone kinda dies easily in 1 hit with 1 mistake even to get randomly hit by scrubs…but it helps me play more careful
Anybody got some good combo or finishers using Doom Plasma assist?
if you have the execution, just do anything into hard knockdown, OTG dive + Doom, jump, lv3 buster, lightdash, lightloop…
if you don’t, just mixup with your other assist after the lightdash, or command dash down and Rekkoha after lv3 buster
If everything that changed in the buster is soft knockdown instead of hard knockdown, Zero still have plenty of ways of comboing… you’ll only lose the ability to OTG, everything else is still there…
you can buster, lightdive, combo or buster, command dash down, launcher…
all you lose is combos from full screen and otg assists… but that’s ok, I guess.
I’m actully finding that you can time Doom missles so it can be a “lock-down finisher” to allow me more time the S, buster, lightning, dive
Does Zero NEED a horizontal assist? because I like missles with viper much more

Actually from the Evo build his command dashes were all slower, buster, command dash down relaunch was very difficult to hit.
