hmm would Dante/Zero/Magnus be a good team? im thinking of using those 3, but Im a bit afraid that the team ends up being too offensive and have nothing to use when its time to get defensive.
I think it’s a good choice, you can still use the DHC trick and Dante also have some more health which doesn’t hurt but I’m wondering if using the DHC trick would be more complicated because with Magneto you always reach the corner so you can use the Sentsuizan corner loop during the Sogenmu but with Dante, after the Grapple, you may find yourself too far from the corner for the loop.

There’s a really easy midscreen Sougenmu loop that can start from DHC glitch. Walk forward a bit after DHC and just before the opponent touches the ground do c.:h: :f::h: [jump j.:h:(1-hit):s: land]*3 (wait until shadow j.:s: hits) :s: j. Buster, Raikousen then either TK Sentsuizan > Rekkoha or Genmu Zero. You can extend the finisher with assists like the normal BnB.
well that’s the normal air loop, we discussed it deeply in the combo thread but the damage of that combo is lower then the max damage from a corner Sentsuizan loop.
Anyway you’re right, there are mid screen alternatives, anyhow i was thinking about Dante’s combos (ending with the Grapple) which allow you to reach the corner from any point of the screen.
Chris is my second favorite character in the game (after Zero) and I couldn’t find any good, reliable DHC combinations with them. His Machine Gun assist and ability to chip like crazy is great, but DHCing stopped me from adding him - instead I’m working on a separate team where he’s on point.
I remember some of us talking about Chris/Zero earlier when the game was released, but have you found anything since then? I’m really liking my Zero/Doom/Ryu squad, but I switch out Ryu in a heartbeat if I could add in Chris.
It’s a pretty bad damage increase, but if you are going Zero, Chris, Doom in the corner, letting him do two shots of his Grenade Launcher hyper (freeze and upwards) before DHCing to Sphere Flame adds ~40k damage to the combo. Midscreen, the two shots before DHCing to Photon Array add ~60k. Better than nothing, I guess.
Another alternative in the corner, since you have Doom, is to call Hidden Missiles as you do a launch, do mmh(3 hits)s, then when you land do st. h to hold them in place until you can DHC, Sougenmu DHC to Sweep Combo to Sphere Flame.
You can DHC just fine from Chris’ level 1 hypers into Rekkoha, at least in the corner. Just do it right as he finishes shooting his last shot in either of them. For his Sweep Combo outside the corner, DHC just as he finishes shooting his magnum.

I really dislike situational DHCs, but I’ll try to do some experimenting tonight hopefully. Since I know a lot more about the game than I did back in Feb/March, I’ll see what I can get out of him with Doom and Zero - not only DHC wise, but setups also.
Irks me that everyone is now building their teams around a glitch. Why even bother? Once it get’s fixed (and there’s really no reason to believe it won’t), we’ll just have a bunch of people whining and calling the fix a nerf :nono:.
Dude I swear we always main the same people lol… good thing to. Now for your team I dont think you need Dante and Magnus, they are both VERY goo batterys but I suggest Magnus,Dorm,Zero
Your gonna need to do something with all that meter and Dorm has great traps and can chip out people with his Dhalsim fireball super. Also Zeros SRK assist with a Shadow clone helps Cover Dormammus ass since he is slow. A good combo to do with them is Get distance and if you have the opportunity to do Dorms Fireball super you can DHC to Sougenmu then Hard tag in since it should be safe, That way you’ll have your opponent in block stun hopefully still while you hard tag in and a Great assist that is virtually invincible ( except to projectiles ). Mags is just there to kick there team down and build hella meter. For this team I suggest like for opponers if you dont want magneto Taskmaster,Dante or whoever can battery well. Initially you wont have much meter left if you come down to zero, But your opponent should be down a lot of life/characters, but a sougenmu + x factor level 3 is deadlier then Phoenix I feel.
Actually I just found 2 touch of death (seriously, even Thor dies) DHC glitch combos for Dante-Zero with no X-Factor. One midscreen and one in the corner, and both start with 1 meter and have almost no net meter loss. I’ll be posting them with my next video, but for now everyone can speculate ^^.
Im thinking of Having Zero second slot on my team and someone first that can Meter build and let me DHC glitch into, I was thinking taskmaster since he can do LOADs of damage and build meter and usually if I dhc into Zero it means a dead character. Then I can Hard Switch back into taskmaster and have a zero with Sougenmu as an assist. SO maybe…

Well I figured since everyone is doing the DHC shit I may as well swith Mags for Storm since it’s BALLS easy to do with her and her combos usually carry you to the corner. Storm/Zero/Sent looks nice. Both Sent and Zero can use wind assist to stay in/safe, especially in the corner. Sent can kind of bring back his MvC2 high/low with Storm assist in the corner. And Storm into Zero glitch does 1.1 before you even do Zero’s super so it’s strong as shit.

lol I do that too when I record. Good shit man, I liked the touch of death combo. I was practicing a zero combo into lv3 air buster, switch to dante into dhc glitch back to zero, for the kill. It uses 3 bars and kills anyone, if you use 2 it does 1.100.000 iirc.

I like dante/magneto because they have death combos and work pretty well together, I dont really like dormammu, its just a personal thing. they way I go is Dante/Zero/Magneto, I like how the team flows, but I need to play more beforeI can say “ok this team is awesome/kinda shitty”. Also in the corner, I can get a death combo if I have these combinations (in that order): magneto/zero, magneto/dante, dante/zero and zero/dante, the only one im missing/not sure if it can be done, is Zero/magneto.
So I’m probably gonna drop Ryu from my Zero/Doom team and either adding Task or Ironman.
If I use Ironman, he’ll be on Repulsor assist to help keep pressure and the corner and theoretically I can do some nice resets coming off OTGs. Doom on Plasma Beam. Not sure about Zero.
If I use Task, I’ll put Zero on Shippuga assist. I’d want to force the opponent into a blocking situation where I can take advantage of Task’s unblockable combos. Task on Horizontal Arrows. Doom on rocks.
