AEW is protective of pushed guys. This is why some dark guys and trent acid were released.
They got a bunch of weird racists, covidiots, q supporters…et al on roster.
And that is just in the inner circle
I never said he wasn’t hot. Lots of awful people are hot. Here’s the thing, though: Isiah Kassidy is hotter than Darby and he’s a nice guy.
I don’t see the star potential in darby. Orange Cassidy is an actual star.
Rusev got put on the backburner for a year by aew. You could argue he was used better in the cuck feud with Lashley at this point
I mean fuck they could just let rusev squash people and challenge darby or moxley. But he is just wasted
Darby’s got a marketable look. The whole skull paint on half his face thing is a distinctive aesthetic, and couple that with the skateboarding, the brooding, the tattered goth clothes, his steely glare, and the fact that he doesn’t talk much. He’s athletic. He’s graceful. He has a ton of aesthetic shit that makes him very easy to sell to people, especially kids. Kids fucking love him.
Blame AEW’s writers and their incompetence. It seems they can never be consistent with any of their shit and when they are, it lacks any sort of real logic.

Same. I get more enjoyment watching the local fed than I do WWE these days.
I get why people don’t like AEW.
It’s corny, goofy and have a lot of spot fests.
But the onus is on the wrestlers choose their gimmicks, do whatever moves they want in the ring and they have freedom on the mic. And they allow wrestlers to get over organically.
For that reason alone, I will never go back to WWE unless they do the same.
This is a double edged sword. Everyone has to get their shit in. Alot of it is unneeded wether it’s a match or a promo. There needs to be a show thats a happy medium between current “whatever” aew to very overly scripted in wwe.
Or maybe it’s just me getting old. The huge multiman matches with the dumb everyone preps for dive spot or every group having even the weakest members speak.
Paul Heyman booking/creative style is what I’d rather see. Accentuate the good hide the bad to the point it’s not noticeable. Save big moments for a ppv. Don’t give me the same match you’ve done everywhere and especially on free tv on dynamite at 1 of your 4 ppvs. I could go on…
My viewpoint has lined up with Jim Cornettes lately

Smackdown has been simple af and i like it.
I also like so many guys in aew. But i like these weekly njpw road to shows too.
But then all i watch now are njpw aew and smackdown

I’m actually a fan of big moments on TV… Because it gives even bigger moments on PPVs.

I mean Roman and Jey Uso. Smackdown has an actual midcard featuring top guys. The women on sd are killing it. The only missing part is a tag division worth anything.

Also i am hoping linda man and t hawk come back. T. HAWK has so much potential as a top guy he needs to be their next project like mjf and hangman

I think that’s part of the problem. Swerves are played out. There’s nothing truly shocking that can happen anymore and I say that as just a viewer not someone hitting up the dirt sheets.

Kenny Omega is a ratings loser. Nobody in nxt is a star. Raw is in the shits.
Smackdown has a growing audience and with roman at the top. We only have ratings and merch.
Judging wrestlers based on social media is fucking weird. Because if we go by those optics then Alexa bliss, bayley, sasha, lana and asuka are the top people.
KENTA surprised the fuck out of me.
So did Miro and Sting.
AEW keeps making me mark out, so I think they do a damn good job.

I will agree this whole aew/impact/njpw thing did catch me off guard and was a nice surprise.

Have they created anything as compelling as Roman Reigns.
I mean beating raw and nxt is simple.
MOXLEY is the draw for aew. I loved moxley’s babyface run as champ. He pretty much brought the title to top tier status with his run.
2020 is kind of a mulligan for pro wrestling. But i see when crowds come back.

I will say that if aew is able at all to book Kazuchika Okada it should be a big event.
Like the first dynamite appearance of okada should be blatantly pushing that okada is coming.
Then i would make his first opponent either Cody or Hangman
I wish WWE did this 4 years ago when we all wanted it and the ratings were higher.
But fuck those cocksuckers for trying to push him as a sympathetic babyface forever.
One of the reasons it was easy to drop WWE, they didn’t give a fuck what the fans wanted.
