See. The Rock was the best person on the mic when he became a part of the corporation and the nation all the way until about 2004. That’s what made him good. Now, WWE doesn’t want him to be as good on the mic as in the late 1990s/early 2000s anymore. CM Punk is in the same boat as The Rock. Those Rock concerts were funny. The Rock is funny as a heel or a face. Hell when The Rock was a heel, it was hard to tell that he was even a heel at times…
no one in this thread is acting like reigns has close to the rocks charisma. but he does have charisma, he has that it factor…does it mean hes gonna be megahuge. of course not…but it doesnt mean hes gonna just fade out, as long as he continues to try to improve and grow he can be big. he honestly doesnt need to be the whole package…he can go far just on promos and presence alone if he allows himself to.
unless he was directly aligned to a heel faction we just say he was a tweener. the only flat out times he was a heel was corporation era and hollywood run the first time.

Reigns needs to get with Paul heyman on the back end to help him develop his promos and I think golddust could help him with fine tuning his wresting and developing a move set. Maybe star using the superman punch on a greater scale and work on his ground and all around ting game. Reigns has the potential but he needs to be given the proper time and training to be a superstar. If he is the challenge Brock then they will need to build him from the ground up and to do that then they need to pair him with the right people on the back end.

Man, I know people hated the angle, but the Dawn Marie is a lesbian thing was awesome.
Even the Rock’s forced push stunted his growth and only worked after he was depushed, turned heel, further learned his craft and joined NOD.
That was when he was allowed to be himself and get over naturally and by Summerslam 98 he was the second most over guy on the roster and was getting insane pops everytime he came on TV even when he was a heel and people were chanting his catchphrases at school.
How many fans who were fans back in 98 remember people saying in the spring of that year “Know your role and shut your mouth,” to some asshole they didn’t like or just mockingly to a friend? Reigns was nowhere near as over as The Rock was back in the summer of 98. Hell The Rock was probably just as over as Goldberg was and he was the fucking WCW champion at the time during the middle of the streak. Reigns simply is being considered the golden child, but I really think this is a mistake and very much the WWE trying to find a successor because besides the look and that insane athleticism for a wrestler he is not that kind of guy I see as the face of the company.
Mostly because Dawn did a fucking fantastic job as being the super horny lesbian/ bi-chick going after fucking Torrie. The way she talked and stripped her down in the hotel and touched her and the way she spoke to her was very well done. With that being said the rest of that angle was awful, but Dawn Marie carried the lesbian angle because she knew what she was doing.
