They paired Kalisto up with Hunicara to fast track him to the main roster.
Right now with Epico injured and los matadores being jobbers. Rey Mysterio basically retired. This seems like the perfect time to debut him.

Rocky was turned on because he was a Hogan-esque baby face on the cusp of the Attitude Era.
Reigns is in the PG Era and all he has to do is appeal to kids and their soccer moms.
originally he got turned on because of the hollywood thing. fans felt betrayed. the rock used that to go heel and have one of his best heel runs.

Yeah, that pic of Rocky Miavia definitely reminded me of how gay The Rock used to be, Reigns definitely has the advantage in his rookie years over his cousin 
The major difference was that once The Rock was allowed to turn heel and had better control over his character he showed right off of the bat that he could cut a great promo.

I like how people are acting like Reigns has anywhere close to the level of charisma and charm that Rock had, even when he was a pineapple-haircut having teenybopper or being Farooq’s bitch…
I like Roman, and I think he has a lot of upside, but this forced push is going to stunt his growth and kill his goodwill with the fans.
Reigns has the advantage of looking like a total badass. This allows him to be booked w the Goldberg factor. Still, if he’s going to be the guy, they are going to have to keep building him.
