Cena probably should take a sabbatical at this point. He can’t really come back after that beating and stay face, and he definitely can’t turn heel now. Too much money invested in face Cena. They can play up Brock continuing to make people mysteriously disappear after their beatings to keep his momentum going.
Even without our own bias of “hell yeah we want Cena to leave for a while!” it’d totally make sense to give the man a break for a few months.
