He has a point though. The Bellas are the only cast members doing anything of relevance and that’s only because Brie is carrying on Bryan’s feud with the Authority. None of the other Total Diva bitches have been on TV for a while.

Is it safe to say that the UFC is the WWE of MMA? I mean what other MMA org comes close?
Years ago, there used to be Pride. Now UFC has taken over pretty much everything.
Pride died thanks to yakuza influence

WCW died thanks to turner taking it off their networks
Vince bought people out in the eighties, but really nobody could compete with him and the mid-nineties was the worst because Hogan and Savage went to wcw and that was when wwf really started to lose ground thanks to those two leaving. Undertaker, Lex, Bret, diesel, and Razor could not fill that void.
But really the wwe has tons of talent. The older vince gets the less patience he has. Also dunn burying all of hhh’s guys. Once hhh gets full reigns on booking things will change
Didn’t UFC buy Pride just like WWE bought WCW
Interesting factoid: Shane McMahon wanted to buy Pride but, I think, Vince nixed the idea.
Not only that, but the WWE had two opportunities to buy the UFC. Once during the Semaphore Entertainment Group era and later on from Fertittas (who had bought it from SEG) when they were losing millions a year.
Any one of those three decisions would have massively altered the landscape of MMA, pro wrestling, and numerous companies.
If WWE would have done that then nothing could compete with WWE today. WWE would have been a monopoly in the pro wrestling world and a monopoly in the MMA world…
WWE would have killed any credibility MMA had.

Not necessarily. WWE might have done a horrible job of promoting the UFC, and it’s entirely possible that a different MMA promotion would have attained supremacy in the US.
Regardless, things would have been different.
Heh. On an amusing note, in Japan, where there is considerable cross-over between pro wrestling and MMA, certain legitimate MMA promotions have held tag team matches in the past. I learned this when one of my favorite submission artists, Masakazu Imanari, competed in such an event.
MMA has a very different image in Japan and is marketed differently there.
Alberto Del Rio actually fought in a Lucha mask against Cro Cop.
Yeah, I remember them having the Pride Champions face the UFC Champions to unify stuff and Dan Henderson lost both his belts or something. But pretty much Pride was the WCW of MMA…though without like the Russoing and stuff obviously.
Kinda half-ass paying attention, but this Edge/Taker match from Summerslam '08 is pretty good.
