Anyone got decent strats for guy? I kept beasting on a friend of mine today who’s trying to learn him. I was playing chun li though.

I just zoned him with fireballs, he kept kick spinny attacking through them and into my low roundhouses/far fierces. or jumped into my anti air of choices. He’s new to the game so I’m not sure if it’s a basics/spacing thing, or if guy just sucks.

I noticed the gamest japanese rankings have him above ken, which i think is entirely whack.

but yeah, strats for guy?

guy is really mid tier.

beating chun li? pretty tough…

id just say semi try to land your custom, his normals arent bad.

Chun-Li vs. Guy is just a tough matchup for Guy. Avoid Bushin drops, they’re inconsistant on Chun-Li because of her size, stick with forward Gale Kicks when playing foot games for her standing attacks, Crouching Strong does okay against alot of her ground stuff, one of the few moves that can beat her short standing kick. Alpha Counter, Alpha Counter. She’s hard for Guy to beat in the air, so Air block most of jump attacks, use jumping (straight up) MKs to push her out. Use standing shorts to stop her jump ins, avoid MK aside from the air attack, as she can beat most of them. Custom Combo her to death whenever you get the chance, throw traps, etc. Very tough matchup if the Chun-Li’s even half way adept

Why Alpha 2 when there’s 3? It improves on everything. Why regress?

Alpha 2 is way different from Alpha 3 because of the big difference between VC and CC.

Anyone know where to get the Alpha 2 guide book? I remember taking a lot at it when I was staying with Apoc for a few days before EVO2k2. It was a quality book.

I heard Watts might have some for sale ( dont quote me on that its been a while ).

If anyone knows or sees one on ebay let me know.

im not sure where people (or japs for that matter) got their tier lists, they make no sense what so ever if you pay the game for more than five minutes.

I found videos on youtube of the B3 tournament all the way back in 96, and it includes a best of 5 series between Valle and Choi. Are those OK to post?
