I haven’t been able to find any mention of this yet, but I noticed an extra spot in the character theme section of the gallery. My first instinct was it was for Galactus, maybe unlocked by beating arcade with all characters, but I believe his stage’s them is in the stage theme section. Also, all the other characters’ themes were in there, with a “New” tag by all the unlockable ones… The extra slot was marked with “???”.
What costumes do YOU want to see?
I actually made a thread similar to this in the Zero forum, so I apologize if it comes off as spamming. However, I was just really interested what see you guys’ thoughts on various costumes, and what you’d personally like to see in the future?
On top of being an interesting discussion (as an art-major, I love talking about this), but it also helps get a feel for different characters. There are a few that, honestly, I hadn’t even heard of before MvC3 (MODOK and Super Skrull, I’m looking at you). Anyways, on to the meat of the thread!
Zero:
Mega Man Zero - The fact that Capcom released a Mega Man Zero Collection on the DS stands testament to the fact that these games are among the best in the genre. No doubt, players would love to see Zero rocking this lighter, much more agile appearance.
Absolute Zero - While many fans were turned off my the turn-based combat, Command Mission boasted some rather bold designs. However, none was more well-recieved by fans than “Absolute Zero”, which hearkens back to Zero’s Wily-roots, sporting a very much Bat-centric design (ala Bass’s “Treble Boost”). Though the design would have to be tweaked to work in MvC3, there is no doubt in my mind; EVERY Zero fan is gonna want this.
Edward Falcon - Although the Power Stone games were hugely successful for their platform, the series seems to have gone into hibernation for the time being. Given that Zero bears a startling resemblance to Falcon, the games’ tentative “main character”, I’m sure there are a lot of Zero and Power Stone fans like who would pick this up.
Thor:
Ultimate Alliance - Quite frankly, no Nordic God should ever be without a beard. Thor showed off that not only could he grow one, but could make groom it in such a stylish way, it leaves little doubt to why the Greek Gods fell out of favor. Couple this look with a sleeve-less chestpiece, and remove the cape. Truly, Odin would smile upon this one.
Akuma:
Oni - If you haven’t seen Oni, then are you in for a treat! Sporting an obvious reference to the Onimusha series’ “Onimusha form”, Akuma looks absolutely beast. Regardless of the differences in moveset, I guarantee anyone in their right might would be dying to have this costume in their roster, even if they don’t play Akuma.
Dante:
Legendary Dark Knight - You know what’s up. Donning the clothes, sword, and handguns of his father, Sparda, Dante showcases just what his bloodline is capable of. While it was never confirmed if this was actually Sparda, or simply a futuristic interpreation of the man Dante would later become, one thing is certain; we want this costume NOW. Simply exchange the Rebellion graphic for the Force Edge, and change his “Devil Trigger” Super to a Sparda-form.
Viewtiful Joe:
HMD Shirt - This should be a no-brainer, this is Joe’s regular clothes, before he transforms, and also reverts to when his VFX powers are depleted.
Dante - It would still be classified as Joe, but they definitely nailed Dante’s cameo appearance. Obviously, Alastor would have to sit on his back, even if he never wields it.
Spencer:
“Radd” Spencer - Another no-brainer, give Spencer his appearance from Bionic Command: Rearmed (the first one). Red hair, sunglasses, sneakers, and uber-macho face. Definitely use the ARTWORK for his design, as his “Retro Costume” from the '09 Bionic Commando just looked bad.
Wolverine:
Logan - It may sound underwhelming, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who would love to see Wolverine able to rock some casual jeans and a white-tee, or red-flanel shirt. It just feels right.
Arthur:
Maximo - Even though you have to keep the short red hair to make sure it’s Arthur, maybe he gets his beard trimmed down, at the very least to a goatee (as reference to the upcoming GnG MMO in Korea). Also, instead of Strawberry-boxers, give him Heart-boxers with this costume.
Oh wow, can’t believe I didn’t even notice that sticky! Right then, I’ll carry over this conversation there, thanks
Is it too much to ask for a “Vs. COM” option that isn’t nestled within menus of the training mode?

as a tron alternate costume.
Assuming everybody gets one alternate model:
Dante - DMC1 attire (iconic and awesome)
Wolverine - Logan attire (Jeans and a jacket goes a long way with him)
Chun Li - Alpha attire (have you seen some of her ass in the middle of her lightning legs hyper? Now put her in a skintight suit)
Spidey - Future Foundation attire (brand new super easy to design, don’t need a new model)
Captain America - Bucky Cap cameo (Too similar to default? Then make it new attire altogether)
Arthur - Maximo cameo (Let’s honor that brief reboot years back)
Trish - Gloria cameo/attire (Spoiler!)
Clap, clap, clap.
I personally want to see a much more robust online suite before worrying about any more DLC after Jill, Shuma and the supposed “other two” works in progress. Why add more characters if the online isn’t even that enjoyable? Yeah, yeah “it’s not even officially released yet so…”, but who knows how much they would actually add in a day one patch other than a minor fix.
-latency filter
-spectator mode
-match saves
And that’s just the most basic of mundane features that should be mandatory without consideration. For new characters, not that I care too much about him, but Dr. Octopus would be kind of cool. They could easily use Omega Red as his template too. Then of course Mr. Sinister, who’s just the epitome of badassery…but he’s probably 100th or so on most likely to ever see the light of day list.
-Ping bar
-Spec mode
-Rematch option
-Replays
I can’t believe I’m making a wish list for shit that should already have been included with the game.
Oh nice, I didn’t know that was also omitted from online.
Meh, with all the crap I had to deal with in SSF4 any game would be better. Morons who think walking backwards in a very slow game is spacing not to realize I’m the one spacing a hundred times more when going forward and still winning. Also used to the brokenness with false ideas of balance that will never come out of 2D games.
Dunno, kick ass rock music, smooth jazz throw in some metal, a raining stage, Akuma with a Strider outfit, Naruto Broken Bond match making. Wither it’s simply badass or sexy but overall just rocking.
A Petition to get M.Bison as DLC in MVC3.
This is a petition I made earlier today. I’m doing my best to try and get M.Bison in MVC3 since myself and so may others seem to want him in. Its a shame that he was overlooked for the mvc3 roster. He would be awesome in this game. If you want him in the game then click the link down below and put your signature. If you don’t want him in then sign anyway lol:)
Thanks everyone.
The only shame is lack of reading ability.
Oh… My bad… I expected nothing less though. Oh well I’m off.
Bring in some Project justice people! Batsu, Hinata… Ahh That would be great… I can’t believe they didn’t put Cyclops! Not even Gambit? Ken? Rogue? Guile or Ken? I hope we get to see them. I don’t care how much they charge… If they keep on bringing characters, I will buy them all.
Batsu was in TvC wasnt he? technically he should be easier to port over than creating a whole new model and moves and shit. In fact, what characters were in TvC that could get this treatment? Batsu, Alex…Volnut? >_>
Wait what? We don’t need a character who plays nothing like anybody else, but we need another shoto variant?
I would like to see…
-Old stages from past v.s games be revamped
-Bring in Alt. Color packs
-Classic Sound Effects
-More Characters people -voted- for
-More modes that make fighting games convient to play
Batsu, Alex, Mega Man Volnutt, Saki, Soki, Roll, PTX-40A (for obvious reasons), and Frank were all of the ones from the Capcom side who haven’t made the switch from TvC to MvC3. Of those, Saki’s probably the only one I’d ask for specifically (if there are this many people using blades already, I don’t seem the harm of throwing in one more with a gun, particularly when the mechanics of her weapon differ as they do from what’s already there). It’d be pretty funny seeing Roll make it in before Mega Man did, though.
No particular requests from the Marvel side from me other than Gambit. They can pretty much do what they want otherwise, as the rest of my requests would be for Capcom (Gene and either Vergil or Nero).
