You’ve got to be living in a bubble or think I’m just a fucking idiot to think you’re not running competing tournaments. Not only that, you only felt the need to bring it up after I announced it because lord knows nobody can get their shit together and give anyone some real notice.
So run your tourney Russell, run all of them for all I fucking care. You just saved me a lot of work.
Thanks for volunteering your help. I will be looking for you to maybe help out with calling names and step in once in a while to keep things going while I am busy playing my matches etc.
Pownz is here to assist you, just ask and we will make it happen.
There were two pricing issues that were brought into question and here is the anwser.
Spectator Fee: $5
Pre-Reg and pay IN Centre on or before May 1st and your venue fee is only $5.
Now, there seems to be some division here with another proposed tournament. I am in the works of opening another room up in the Centre that could hold 2-3 more fighting screen systems. As I look at the setup, for May 2nd, the Centre will house up to 10 competitive fighting stations. I also understand there is some debate over the last game to be added to the roster, could the community not be served by featuring Soul Cal 4 in my extra room, the base venue fee covers all tournaments being played. If need be we can give SRK access to the entire Centre from 12pm-close (over 2000 sq/ft) for 13 hours. If executed properly (as has been my experience with all of Nagata’s events) there is no reason that all sides, be it using swords or fists, can’t be featured here. We are ready to assist any T.O.s with organization and timing.
In the end, I trust in Nagata Lock’s judgement and will go with his recommendations as to when this tournament will be held and what it will feature. His effort in uniting the southern Ontario fighting scene is commendable as any of his tournament fighters can attest to.
i don’t pay the most attention to this stuff, but do tourneys usually feature less games because of the logistical nightmare or is it because if there are too many games, it dilutes the crowd?
if the former, will having the pownz staff help organize things (which i think zozo just said they were willing to do, if i understood that correctly. it was kind of implicit) plus the increased number of stations (10 seems pretty huge by the sounds of things in other threads) mean things can run a hell of a lot smoother and quicker and then perhaps more titles can be run?
if the latter, then i guess there’s not too much can be done about that.
oh but either way, provided there is an extra station available and that nobody thinks it would take away from AH2 (are we still doing AH?), i volunteer to run a free random seed guilty gear tournament.
Fuck your going to have to scratch me of the list. I’m stuck in Australia. I’ll be back the 2nd however i also have a family function that day, and i’ll be a wreck from being on a plane for 14 hours.
I’ll try to make it out after but i doubt i’ll be able to.
If anyone else still wants to play AH2 at this event then say something. I can bring it on a PS2 HD, which makes a big difference in loading time (supposedly it improves the slowdown, too).
Can everyone who is going to attend please reconfirm on the boards. The thread sign up list hasn’t been updated in a while so i’m making up a new list.
