The Walking Dead - A New Series from AMC

Yeah I heard HR and IP and my quantic dream fanboy mpradar went off lol, I really love that studio even though IP really sucked towards the end and Omikron gunplay wasn’t very tight.

Still keeping my eye on this for awhile though.

I got to about 1:52 in that video and had to stop. Good Lord.

No commentary version… obviously contain Spoilers if you choose the “sorta good guy” route.

yeah, a lot of vids are floating around on YT.

saw another one shortly after I made that post. it was 9 parts ranging from 11 - 15 minutes per vid. he was playing on steam.

the one Tanion posted is about right, time-wise. so my initial comments were off.

so really from what was showcased, there’s actually more cutscenes than I thought and less gameplay.

most of the gameplay can’t be called true gameplay, that motel scene was about as much actual gaming I saw through the entire clips, and they were bland. One death scene was down right despicable. Nigga literally passed out for no damn reason then got bit, instant game over. wasn’t even DMC1/RE5 death scene either. just fall, munch, game over. From the ending of Ep. 1, looks like it picks up a bit, it better since this game is canon of the comic and not the show.

so, 1 episode is about 120 minutes/ 2 hours long. assuming that is accurate, 600 minutes/10 hours of play time throughout 5 episodes. Possible 15-20 more hours of play time for other endings/decisions. That’s actually not too bad. Things may just balance out, but I still not feeling the play style of the game. the point and click dynamic really kills it, and Lee as a character, especially a main, is boring, predictable, and just horribly written. Once you get to Macon, you kinda want to play as Glenn instead and just see Lee get turned into a Everett buffet for walkers. he’s that bad.

PICK UP THE DAMN BRICK ALREADY!!!

cutscenes, asking questions, ect. take about 3/4 of the first episode, so like 40 minutes of actually killing walkers/ setup to kill walkers. if the game is like that for the next 4, SMH, that’s a possible 10 hours and a few months of waiting you’ll never get back, unless you really like cutscenes and story-driven games.

Haven’t watched this show all season. Resisting temptation to watch spoilers…

LOL @ the brick comment. Well you can essentially view this game as an interactive movie instead of a game. For 5 bucks that is your typical movie rental, except in this movie you can change slightly what will happen throughout the movie. Only shitty thing is though you gotta wait for 5 months to find out how your movie will end… and it will be 20 bucks for the whole shebang. Lee is a bit of a hit or miss for me. There are some aspects of him later throughout the story of this game that make him a bit likeable but early on I was like… wow can I please be Glenn instead? I don’t mind Story-driven games too much if the story is good. Problem is I can’t deal with this 4 month wait to figure out if it is going to be good. Wish they released it all in one blast instead of getting this cock tease of a story.

Watch Kirkman kill off Rick at issue #100, only to bring in Lee. Now would be a good time as ever, seeing how Kirkman’s been hinting at it in the letter section.

^so issues 97-102 covers have been shown but not published yet?

seems fishy, then add what you got just said, and the knowledge of so many people just get killed off at random…

that’s some ol’ bull. Killing Rick should be death to the series unless, you know, Rick can regenerate/immune or something.

when ep. 2 suppose to come out?

T-dog!

yea, that negro is dead.

hope he makes it until the finale.

i like how they didnt show any of the chars that we know are going to get raped. i sense foreshadowing.

shake dem dreads

^that really didn’t need a spoiler:
‘The Walking Dead’: Exclusive first look at Danai Gurira as fan favorite Michonne | EW.com
In the comics, Michonne is an unflinching warrior who proves to be powerful ally for Rick Grimes and the rest of the survivors. But how different will the onscreen version be? “The essence of the character — her personality, her motives, everything that makes Michonne Michonne — remains intact from the comics,” says Robert Kirkman (the creator of the comic and executive producer of the TV adaptation). “But like a lot of things on the show, there will be little tweaks and differences here and there. We saw that her introduction is slightly different from how it was in the comic, and her interaction with Andrea is really going to be a really cool addition to the character that I think will get television viewers up to speed, and they’ll get to know her a lot faster than comic book readers did.”
As for why they cast the relatively unknown Danai Gurira for the pivotal role, Kirkman says, “We looked at a lot of talented people that were really fantastic, but we were waiting for that one spark, that moment where everyone was completely in agreement and completely excited, and we felt like we had found the essence of this fictional character that just randomly appeared in another person, and that person was Danai Gurira. She kind of came in and really just blew us all away. She’s got incredible presence, and she’s got a theater background, and is very physical, and was just perfect for the role.”

I know this is old news but I don’t think I saw any discussion on this. It’s Jon Bernthal (Shane) talking about the death of his character and how he would’ve done it. What do you guys think? Better? Worse?

Considering the way the character was developed and how different the whole TV series is compared to the comics, I would’ve welcomed this change. It would’ve differed from the comics even more than the current version but it’s exactly the kind of shit that comic book Rick has been going through and I think a lot of people agree that the TV series needs more stuff like that.

I’m still waiting on episode 2 and season 3.

fuck Shane, bro.

Have you seen Falling Skies? It’s like TWD, but it has aliens and Massachusetts.

And it’s terrible.

Me too, just trying to stave off the starvation by looking up interesting trivia on the internet.

I did.

Spoiler

I like the fact that issue 100 is part of this story line. Has me expecting great things. I was kinda disappointed by the crossbow guy though. Damn you Kirkman, playing with my emotions like that.

Walking Dead motion comic. Pretty good, it’s cool that Phil LaMarr is still voice acting.
