Art style looks a lot like Borderlands, almost as if they used the same engine.

I like how you and other people (mainly YTers) say the same thing and yet it’s more of a “WTF are you talking about” comment.
yes, the gameplay is wrong, wrong, WRONG, BUT the only thing they got right was the art direction.
it’s like seeing a Calvin and Hobbes game done in the same art style and every guy born after '92 goes “oh, this game sux because it looks too cartoony”. …WOW…
SMH. the comments are even worse if it’s coming from people who actually follow the comics, and this game is following the comic storyline, it’s before the comic’s timeline, and this also means anyone can die, get chopped up, or “raped”.
too bad that last part won’t happen, but the real issue is the gameplay, the sheer stupidity of the writing and Lee as a main character, and this game is separated by episodes via DLC. Also, I thought Clemetine was half-n-half. She looks Hispanic or Filipino. Meh.

Apparently you can pay 5 bucks per episode or pay 20 bucks to get 1-5 [which come out monthly]. The game play is very Heavy Rain like except maybe a bit more simple if you turn on the hints thing. The only thing that is a bad draw back is that you gotta wait a couple of months for the rest of the episodes to come out so those 20 bucks are sorta like an investment I guess in your entertainment. Not too sure if this was wise to do it like this though.

I’ve not read the comics, but I’ve seen plenty of comic book styled games that looked great, this doesn’t.
If they’ve stayed faithful to the comic artist’s look then good for them, but consider me unimpressed! :tup:

No traditional puzzles. You can collect shit, I guess (press X to pick up gun), The whole gameplay is just a menu that pops up at times when you need to do stuff. They can literally cut out the player-controlled portions and give you a nice animated movie with what remains.

You have less control than a fight scene in final fantasy 1. You DO however have more speech options

That is what is mostly is. If anyone has played Heavy Rain this plays very much like this albeit a bit easier since some of the Heavy Rain stuff [Car scene anyone?] was pretty annoying. Now I’m actually a fan of Heavy Rain and it did let me sink a lot of hours into the game trying to find the other endings, I’m curious if this game has that much depth.
The replay value for this game is great. If you’re a fan of Heavy Rain or Indigo Prophecies, you’ll love this game.
I loved HR one of the best things I’ve ever experienced, IP on the other was was really great until the last 2-3 hours where it got really stupid. It’s getting good reviews and I had no intention of picking it up but now after reading your post I might get all 5 episodes

This is mostly when I quit the show. It seemed more like a soap opera with zombies. I want killing and gore, not a dumb love plot that was destined to end.
How is the Walking Dead game compared to Heavy Rain? After hearing how bad they did Jurassic park, do you guys who have played it recommend picking it up?
And is it a control scheme meant for Controller, or PC?

this game is nothing like Heavy Rain, more like Asura’s Wrath than anything.
the only thing this game and HR have in common is the choice you make determine the direction of the game.
HR wasn’t spliced up into episodes, AW’s ending is.
HR actually wasn’t meant to showcase the six axis function, AW is mostly button mashing without much penalty for mistakes, like Dragon’s Lair.
HR allowed you to at least search for things, AW was more like a rail-shooter. that can debated via new vid that I’m about to post.
Plus this is as long as the 1st series from AMC (5 episodes). if you can get through all 5 episodes around 5 hours (an average between 40-50 minutes) you’re getting 225 minutes of gaming approximately the 1st time through. factor in cutscenes, the gameplay is under 200 minutes. then go by the game possibly having 3 endings, (which hasn’t been confirmed, from what I’m aware of) you’re getting a lil over 300 minutes more of gaming and almost 300 minutes of gameplay total. So around 5 hours of gameplay. Yup, an AW comparison sounds about right.
$20-25, yeah, this game is nothing like Heavy Rain, but the price matches the experience. it’s basically AW with it’s presentation/anime episodes.
You guys that plan on getting this game better hope they don’t decide by October, when season 3 comes out, to port the game to disc and sell it for $15. Just sayin’.
