That would be a pretty depressing ending to a depressing series(so I guess it would be fitting). [details=Spoiler]The only issue with such an ending is that its been proven that the zombies are actually completely incompetent and only think about feeding, unlike the vampires in I am legend who actually had their own civilization and could talk and all that shit. It would still be a pretty sick ending if they found a way to pull it off. Depressing, but sick[/details]
Haven’t read the comic or seen season 2 but s1 is GDLKE.
the comics where its at. s1 is good. s2 is a snore fest save the first 10 mins of ep 1 and last 10 mins of ep 7.
Is it ever explained where the zombies came from? Usually in any entertainment medium things intentionally left unexplained like the apocalyptic event in The Road serve the story well but the fact that Rick hasn’t asked anyone all season is ridiculous even if he’s been busy since it would naturally be the first thing anyone in his situation would be curious about. This is exactly the kind of thing you have to take into account when going for the realistic angle, otherwise the shoddy inconsistent logic takes you out of the experience.
I’ve only read this page of the thread since I know most SRK’ers don’t bother with spoiler tags.
They find out in the end of the 1st season, but not really in the comic.
S1 finale gives a vague explanation of how it turns a person into a zombie but not where the first case came from, how it spread, who’s idea was it, etc. It definitely hurts the show and the comic if they never explain it only because when a piece of entertainment agrees to be bound (somewhat) by the rules of the real word than any large deviation of that is jarring and inconsistent.
Also it’s really stupid to burn the bodies. It’s been established you can be infected by getting scratched, bitten, or having any part of a zombie get in in your eyes, mouth, or in your body at all so you should be infected if you inhale even a little zombie smoke. Or maybe the zombie virus or whatever it is is completely dead by the time it becomes airborne? Also I’m surprised no one became infected when they rubbed the blood and guts on themselves I was expecting someone to be like "oh shit I rubbed my eyes!
How intelligent are the zombies? In the s1 finale it’ explained all they can do are basic motor functions AKA just walking, running, and eating but in the first episode we see zombie turn a doorknob, and in the second we see some use bricks to hit the same spot of a door weakening it until it breaks, so WTF?
