For cereal for a second, I just skimmed a giant review of the season/episode on grantland and it was bad.
I was Mr “I hate this stupid show” for awhile, but if you are a TV critic and can’t admit the last like 3 episodes were actually good, not like mindblowing breaking bad good or something, but still good in an entertaining way you are tarded.
Sure the human stuff is boring, and the story is dumb, but I mean SHANE man, SHANE! Out of the 7 episodes in this half season there has only been like 2 real stinkers. That is the opposite of the last season where all of them but 2 were horrible. The show just needs more people getting eaten so America can get really depressed.
I mean a little girl getting turned into a zombie should be just the beginning if the do the show right.

If a scene wasn’t explicitly about Sophia I pretty much forgot that her missing was the main storyline of these episodes. Not saying these episodes were bad (we got some good Daryl time out of it), but I kind of expected them to just move on to something else more interesting like 3 episodes ago. At the end of this last episode, I was more shocked that they thought I still cared about her lol
To be honest, anyone can have a temper tantum, scream like an angry toddler, and shoot slow ass zombies all funneling out of a narrow choke point. It takes a real man to be as reasonable and level-headed as Rick. Shane is just a spoiled child.

Shane is the level-headed one trying to help these fools survive in a world full of zombies and succeeds in doing so in spite of Rick’s raging Messiah Complex.
Shane saved Carl. Shane wasn’t the one who suddenly forgot his police skills and stated (correctly) that you had 48 hours to find someone, and that after that you were searching for a corpse. Shane was the one who told them not to go back for the racist meth head on the roof which ended up leaving them vulnerable in the season one attack. Shane was the one who confronted the old man who was clearly completely delusional about the nature of the walkers. This was the opposite of Rick’s approach, which was to continue to placate the old idiot and his moronic belief by helping him wrangle two more of them.
Rick could have helped shoot the zombies if Herschel had taken the snag? Um, why the fuck was Rick holding a zombie on a snag in the first place?! It was because he was playing into dumbass Herschel’s bullshit. Two dumbasses with matching Messiah Complexes![/details]

Yup, they were breaking chicken legs and then tossing them into the barn to feed the walkers. I’m guessing it’s to placate them since they don’t need food to stay alive, though that could just be Hershel being dumb and ordering them fed for no reason
you forget, he did whatever it took to save his son, then what makes you think he wouldn’t go against his on “philosophy” to keep a safe haven not only for the survivors but the place to keep “his baby” safe? not only that, the guy just saved your son’s life. that’s a big debt. Hershel had Rick by the balls, so to speak. “My land. my rules.” don’t act like if you had a pregnant wife in the middle of the end of the world that you would not try to do whatever it took to keep your family safe.
As for Shane, what does he got to lose really? other than his hair, his own morality, and a baby, this guy is taking about as many “L’s” as Nas and “the year” aint even over yet, lol. fact still remains: he bitched up when it mattered the most and Rick was the only one to step up. Period.

When was the last time he lowered himself into a well to rope up a zombie? When was the last time Shane wasn’t a mad little high school boy because his girl got stolen from him?
Right, because walking two zombies past your pregnant wife so you can put them in a barn full of more zombies who are posted up a hundred feet away from where she sleeps is keeping her safe. That’s completely ridiculous, and Hershel’s rules were completely ridiculous as well. The idiot was wasting food feeding precious chicken rations to his zombie kinfolk. Absurd. “My land. My rules”, is one thing, when the rules are basic shit like, “You guys poop in the outhouse”, or, “No one put their winky in my hot daughter”—but it was, “My land. My rules. My barn zombies. My no gun policy.” That’s about as stupid as you can get, and it was Shane (yet again making the right decision) who went and stopped Dale from hiding the damn guns in the swamp.
In terms of proper decision making it’s basically Team Shane versus The Three Stooges (Rick, Herschel, and Dale). The Three Stooges are all exhibiting the fatal character flaw of trying to maintain some sense of decorum and morality when those notions have long since become a major liability. Dale trying to hide the guns and saying he’ll be able to say the zombie world didn’t take him down with it: Pathetic. Herchel on the walkers: “They’re people.” Retarded and delusional. Rick continuing to send people out to search for a little kid that’s been missing for a week: Admirable, but foolish.
Rick had Hershel by the balls because it was Herchel’s man who shot Carl in the first place. Herschel was obligated to let them stay there until Carl was healed up enough to travel, which is why he let them stay but kept reminding Rick that they would have to move on afterwards. Even before the zombie fish-in-a-barrel shooting Rick was still pleading with Herschel to let them stay there. Are you saying that Rick only agreed to go help wrangle those two walkers because he thought it would score him some brownie points in his extended stay hospitality negotiations with Herschel? “Come help me with these zombies and I might let you stay.” The proper response to that is, “Fuck you.” Once again, Shane had to step up and declare how shit was going to go down, “We’re staying.” Period.
So how was Rick the only one to step up again, because he shot Walkerphia? No one bitched up when she came waddling out of the barn. They just stopped shooting for a second. It makes zero sense to say that Shane bitched up when it mattered the most. You mean like when he Left 4 Deaded Otis to save Carl? Like when he went to a suburb full of zombies to continue looking for the girl who he assumed was already dead? Rick fired a shot when there was one undead zombie twelve year old girl coming out of the barn. Rick stepped up when it mattered the least.
It’s not just Shane that stands to “lose his morality”, it’s everyone. It just so happens that Shane was the first to embrace the inevitable sacrificing of humanity that they’re all going to have to do at some point—and it’s not like he did it for some selfish reason.
What, are they handing out style points for honorable melee kills on zombies now, like this is an RPG where you have to level up your hand to hand combat rank? How they get put down is completely irrelevant.
This is the same as asking, “When was the last time Shane did something completely fucking retarded?” He keeps trying to push up on Whorie, but that’s less completely fucking retarded as it is just really dumb and pathetic. Even T-Dawg realized how stupid the idea of lowering someone into the well was, and he’s a bumbling moron.
I’ll give you this. Dude is a little butt hurt because he doesn’t get to bang out Whorie anymore, but I’d still rather have the guy who puts the pussy on pedestal but who otherwise makes all the right decisions as the group leader, as opposed to the guy who constantly puts the entire group in danger.
Besides the whole Shane vs Rick thing (Shane is both a huge douche as well as a badass, and the only person who had the balls to step up) there’s something subtler that you may have forgotten: Glenn is already whipped by a girl that only gave it up to him once. He waited for her to ok him to shoot all the zombies before he stepped up to the plate. I guess when you’re in a zombie apocalypse then you make sure to keep the only girl interested in you happy

I suggest you start building your bridge to get over the fact that Rick is not even one tenth of the man needed for this new world that Shane is.

He basically didn’t have any other choice but to start shooting, since the walkers were parading towards them at that point. She also had to be the one to tell him that he was basically zombie bait.
