The Walking Dead - A New Series from AMC

First episode was great. I knew while reading the comic, that it would make a great TV series. I’m up to issue 40 something in the comics. The only thing that sucks is, I have read the comics and know all the twists and turns that play out. I hope they deviate a little bit, so I at least get a few surprises.

Rhio is like super jacked up. No one is looking at his wrinkly face.

Plus he is also black. You can never tell how old black people are.

I too am awaiting the end of this season. I really want to see how they handle the winter stuff.

Yea in an interview Kirkman explained that he ran through stories a bit quick in the beginning of the comic because he wasn’t sure how long it would be published for and did want to tell a few stories before a possible cancellation (he has a few early cancelled series). Said that the TV show allows him to expand on those things a bit more.

Glen

Spoiler

GLEEEEN DURIFTOOOO!!!

lol.

Slight variations from the books, but its still pretty quality

“Where’s Glen?”

Riding out. Riding the fuck out.

Only thing wrong with the episode was the zombie climbing the fence. C’mon guys, that is a big time no go.

Also ladder zombie was almost stupid. Don’t get stupid with the damn ZOMBIES.

I thought zombies climbing the fence was pretty ridic.

It adds a whole new dimension to their danger. These zombies aren’t as broken as those Romero sprinting zombies, but they don’t seem to be completely useless either. They move pretty damn fast. Reading the comic for the past couple of years I never thought of the zombies as the kind of threat you see in the show.

Well staying in good shape(diet/exercise) with strong health habits(no smoking, drinking, etc), is a strong determinant for how well a person ages over time.

Whereas those super-slob types that drink & smoke, often will look 5-6 yrs older than what they are.

Loving this show so far. Shit is getting real with the second episode.

Wow i really felt bad for the handcuffed guy in the end, i hope he at least goes out fighting. Didn’t really like some of the zombies holding big cinder blocks when breaking the mall doors down.

Show is awesome. It’s like Dexter, where i know its going to end ok but im still screaming at the tv anyway when they get in a rough spot!

I’m kind of surprised and impressed at how little they censored in “Guts”. I should probably find it weird that the make-out scene made me feel more unnerved than the chopping scene, even having read the few comics.

The mobility of the zombies and their possible (limited) intelligence is something that could be a problem later on, and I mean that more with regards to (slightly changed) plot of the show than to the survivors. I doubt they’ll go as far as “vegetarian” zombies though, which reminds me that I’m rather glad to see zombies eating non-human animals and minority zombies as well; the latter are basically non-existent in video games and I wouldn’t be surprised if most movies that are set in metropolitan areas are surprisingly devoid of them.

Amazon is already taking preorders for this show.

Hah! My sister remarked that there were surprisingly few black zombies in Atlanta. Her husband told her the black folk learned their lesson from Katrina and got the hell outta town. lol

But I loved this episode, sure it is a little different from what went down in the books, but I’m still impressed. I’m especially glad they kept the wearing zombie guts part in.
I thought the part of them walking amongst the zombies was nerve wracking as hell, especially when a couple of ‘geeks’ kind of stared at them while following a little too closely behind… FUCK that… there’s no way I could’ve done that and I’d be doubly screwed if zombies are attracted to the smell of piss!

Rick’s wife is a whore and his friend is an asshole. Who the hell would even think about having sex in a possibly zombie infested wilderness… geez.

LOL’ed at Glen getting Too Fast, Too Furious. “Later, Bitches!”

A lot more people are introduced in the show compared to the book which means I don’t really know who is going to survive, but if it’s anything like the books, I probably shouldn’t get too attached to any of them.

^ post above pretty much sums up my feelings tonight:rofl: although the zombie fence hopping threw me off, not having read the books, I thought the part with them walking through the crowd of zombies with guts drenched all over them was really awesome. I’ve never seen that in a zombie anything(movie, show, cartoon etc) before, second episode has definitely got me hooked for the rest of the season

I thought it was hilarious that one of the zombies just happen to have a brick or whatever and he just hitting the window.

I really wish they didn’t say at the start mentioning the Beretta that it’s a clip…it’s a magazine…c’mon let’s fix this mistake for fuck’s sake.

With the added characters and some minor changes to the comic book storyline, I’m wondering if they’re going to remove certain plotlines and events that censors could consider too objectionable for television.

Me too, but that was okay because that happened in the very first zombie movie.

Bricks are okay. Jumping fences like a damn acrobat and climbing ladders are not. I really like how they’ve nailed the horrible moaning of an entire zombie filled town.

I also hope that like 80% of that camp is there just to die. Which they almost certainly are. Lets have some people get eaten already. I guess we are saving that for some serious action.

New characters aren’t very interesting, actually redneck showed the most character, but everyone else is meh…
Overall good ep, some people on the net are complaining but I don’t see how this was a bad episode.

That black dude is such a clown. How the fuck do you trip like a white broad and drop the key?? That part really pissed me off for some reason. Leaving the redneck like that was all kinds of foul lol.
