The Walking Dead - A New Series from AMC

The only problem with that is I don’t have internet, I have to come to the library to get online. Unfortunately, two of the three libraries near my grandma’s place are networked and share the same surfing restrictions (the fuckers even have SRK blocked because it’s video game-related). Even ECU’s vastly-superior Joyner Library, despite having fewer restrictions, have disabled the sound on their PCs (not even headphones will work). On the bright side, at least I can get on SRK from here.

Bottom line, I gotta get to my bro’s place before tomorrow night.

but there was actually more than one zombie with a damn brick/ rock…

^this.

you lost me.

Damn, get over it. It’s not like they were competent or anything. They were still weak as hell, even armed. They were obviously fresher, so they could used VERY simple tools. A couple days or weeks later, and they wouldn’t have enough upstairs to make the connection to use tools. The zombies in the comic are always WAY more decayed than what we’ve seen in the show, except for that legless zombie. Makes sense that these fresher corpses would still have some very basic tool-using ability.

Ok, but in the defense of the people who’ve never heard of this series until late October, it was like the show implied that some or all zombies were “thinking” also, it was like a “monkey see, monkey do” [MSMD] at some points of the series.

EX: At first, only one zombie had a rock in the 2nd episode, by the 3rd epi, at least 3 other zombies had rocks. MSMD.

EX: when Asian dood was talking while they were zombie walking, at least 4 zombies had “concerned thoughts”. Like, they were second guessing the 2 characters. Even the zombie chick looked for confirmation, then Asian dood start moaning and she left him alone. If this whole “idea” was suppose to work via smells, there should not have been any “second guessing” from a thing that’s suppose to be stupid or incapable of reason. Magic or no magic. Science or no science. But in the end, it’s like beating a dead horse to try to make since out of something that never made logical sense in the first place. some people, and sometimes even myself, can’t let go of common sense when it comes to these zombie movies/ shows to just “enjoy the show”. I have no problem with fantasy, sci fi, ect., but at least TRY to make sense of the show without make things come off as a stretch. A zombie, under no circumstance, should be able to “climb and flip” over a 9 ft fence (especially if they can’t climb a damn ladder), but 40+ zombies should be able to eventually knock down a 9ft fence.

I’m just saying.

sigh.

ok, man

Spoiler

He shaved in police prescient, he drove his cop car, then first epi (first scene) he was looking for gas but his car wasn’t out of fuel yet (killed little girl zombie), then he drove off until he eventually did run out of gas (the scene where he was on the radio and was “JUST OUTSIDE OF ATLANTA”), and lastly he found the horse to ride into Atlanta.

Even a days ride should have had some stubble. Rick is a man. Looks like shatterstar has appointed himself Walking Dead expert I guess.

omg we’re really bitching about beard stubble here? Fuck right off.

Try to avoid watching 1,000,000 BC, or 10000, or battlefield earth…you may end up wondering why the women all have nice hair, and that will truly make you cry.

get em.

lol, seen the first one you mentioned. getting eaten by chocobos is always awesome.

other than that, yaw too sensitive. all I did was give an explanation along with my opinion. Actually VS was bitching about stubble or lack there of. I didn’t write the fucking script. I just gave you a damn observation. If that was the case, why weren’t you bitching about the main character waking up in the hospital. He had a FULL FUCKING BEARD. how this super honkey survive that shit? How does that make sense? Was his iv on infinite?

Which brings up the only real gripe that I have with this show: it literally throws you into the story with very little to absolutely no explanation of what the hell is going on. Granted, zombies are zombies but hell, what the fuck is really going on here? I thought by the 3rd episode we would get a run down on what happen. Instead, Mexicans and car chases.

When he dons his beard, Chuck Norris watches over him.

LMAO, white humor.

Well duh Shatterstar, you know it’s all a dream. That explains all thishair time space continuum breaching.

Either that or one of the zombies was a nurse and remembered to take care of him.

I probably should have read the comic?

Father Gabriel would approve of this.

Reading the comic might help with some stuff, but the series has strayed from it on some things.
In the comic Glen would go by himself into Atlanta to pick up stuff, in the series there is a group with him.

For at least 40 issues they do not say where the zombie virus came from, if they ever even do. I remember Kirkland saying he was never going to reveal the genesis of it because it was better kept a mystery.

ugh…

blegh… spits

that just left a bad taste in my mouth. need mouth wash now.

I guess, you guys. I’ll still watch this “shit” but just don’t try to flame me if I end up not liking this series by the end of the first season. I’m enjoying a few things but the show hasn’t won me over quite yet. I’ll remain optimistic. I mean, the show can’t be as bad as HSoD… can it?

They never say. Just read the comic. It’s pretty great.

The zombies are merely a plot device.

Its of little consequence how whatever happened happened because our protagonists aren’t looking to reverse the process or save the day, they are merely looking to survive.

And to echo an earlier poster, how can anyone get mad about the rock-holding zombies when the first zombie in Night of the Living Dead goes and grabs a rock to break the window of a car? Not only that, but he also breaks the headlamps to douse the light.

Issue #75 gives you a “what if” on the zombie origin.

explain (spoilers if u gotta)…

my ONE problem with zombie movies is that NOBODY has the balls to really say how it got there. Sure, Resident Evil and a few others have thrown it out there, but few have taken the ball and run with it.

Nope, they’re all in Purgatory…oh wait, wrong show…

Really? All I see is newly-elected Officer Rick stalking that family trying to catch Psycho Dad in the act of abusing them, and Glenn and a new black chick in town on a supply run. It’s mostly about those 2 events.

After the issue, there’s a gag ending picking up where the issue left off. It’s a inside joke to those people that read the monthly newsletter column each issue.
