Pretty much everyone Dangerous J said. Add in Phil LaMarr, Tara Strong, Jennifer Hale, Paul Eiding, and Christopher Randolph, David Hayter, Crispen Freeman though.
I just think Mark Hamil gets the Joker part so right. Even back when I used to really be into comics I always had Mark Hamil’s voice in my head when I read the Joker parts.
^_-;
City Hunter is where I know of his work, but hes probably my fav anime VA. The switch form the uber silly to the serious guy is so well done imo.
Whoever does Aries Shion in Saint Seiya - Hades Sanctuary is awesome.
Aww man, I LOVE THE ART OF VOICE ACTING.
My favourites… I honestly have too many favourites to list. Phil Lamarr, Tom Kane, Mark Hamill, Kevin Conroy, Tara Strong, Nolan North, Jennifer Hale, CLANCY freakin’ BROWN. Probably the top of my list.
There are some “anime” voice actors that are really good that are starting to branch out that I really like as well; Liam Obrien, Johnny Yong Bosch, Troy Baker are all really good, they always seem so passionate when they do voice work, which to me is a HUGE part of what makes voice work so magical.
Although people say they’re over saturated, I still think Yuri Lowenthal and Steve Blum are great VA’s as well. People like to say “ugh, they’re everywhere!” and that is true, but I think they’re in alot of stuff because they’re damn good, solid VA’s who always put 100% into their roles.
Jennifer Hale and Gina Bowes.
Phoenix and Felicia in MVC3, however NOT for those appearances.
ONLY because Phoenix is female Commander Shpeard and Felicia is the black female voice in Saints Row 2.
Just recently watched a vid of Regina King doing Huey and Riley on the Boondocks and that really blew me away. Weird cause I’m currently watched 24 S6. Very talented chick.
Of course Hamil is the man.
Also, I can never remember his name, but that dude who did Starscream/Cobra Commander (iirc hes dead now) was a G too
Edit:
The chick who did Rose in SF4 is pretty hot. I used to listen to her on the radio a few years back. Don’t really care much about her VA work though.
Simon Templeman is a fuckin boss.
Michael Bell and Tony Jay (rip) along with Rene Aberjonoise. Fuck it. Everyone in LOK. That series is the fucking shit as far as voice work goes.
He’s in everything but I love Nolan North. He’s very good. His work as Penguin in the recent Batman game is fucking brilliant.
Steve Blum is great to.
My favorite female is Wendee Lee,
Crispen Freeman…fuck this topic comes up and my mind goes blank.
I love David Hayters work as Lupin in Castle of Cagliostro.
Can’t think of anyone i straight up hate. I think of work I hate, but no actor who is just shit in everything.
Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill set the STANDARD for voicing Batman and Joker.
Often imitated…never duplicated.
I love Jennifer Hale for Shepard’s voice alone, brilliant work imo. And holy shit FELICIA is the voice of black female in Saints Row 2?!?! That is fucking hilarious, I must hear that!
For those that posted, I agree with Hamil and Conroy. But don’t forget Arleen Sorkin as Harley Quinn! To me, those three voices are THE voices for their respective characters, I always read the comics with their voices in my head.
Anime voice acting is . . . okay, it’s a lot better than what we had back in the nineties.
Yuri Lowenthal’s wife isn’t bad either, forgot her name, she’s the voice of Mitsuru from Persona 3 and Tron Bonne.
Andy fucking Serkis.
Voice and Motion actor extraordinaire.
I kinda miss 90s dubbing. It wasn’t good, but there was a certain charm to it.
Yes there certainly was! I loved how everyone talked without taking breaks in sentences, it was so weird.
Some nineties animes had voice acting that I enjoyed. Tenchi Muyo is probably my all time favorite dubbing, though there are many that disagree with me. Love Ryoko’s VA, such a unique voice that i’ve heard no where else.
Grey Delisle is a personal favorite of mine for all the voices she has done, along with Will Friedle, Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill, Phil LaMarr, Richard Horvitz, and Diedrich Bader.
Everyone here has stated my other favorites, so why go over them again…
Man i totally fucking forgot. Kari Wahlgren. She is amazing.
The Simpsons may have went bad to many of it’s long time fans the last few years, but gotta say the VA talent of the main cast is still solid. To be specific, Dan Castellaneta, Harry Shearer and Hank Azaria with their multitude of characters and the ranges they display when voicing each one.
When it comes to British VAs, with the ones mentioned, I’ll add to that Greg Ellis (The Gentleman Ghost in Batman Brave and the Bold; Rocket Raccoon in UMvC3) and Robin Atkins Downes (Travis Touchdown, Mumm-ra in the Thundercats remake; The Medic)
And even if you’re not a fan of JP voice acting; I think almost everyone recognizes how amazing Norio Wakamoto is.
Morgan Freeman and Keith David…they make documentaries awesome.
Dan Castellaneta has a lot of voice credits under his name, but people only know him for Homer Simpson. He’s actually a VERY good voice actoro.
I do enjoy British VAs, when I come across them. I liked the voice acting in Dragon Age and Dark Souls. Greg Ellis was the voice of the original Anders, if i’m not mistaken.
Funny that I mentioned some MVC3 women that happen to be in Mass Effect and Saints Row, and Keith David happens to be in both. lol.
