Is the 360 region-free?
Because unless VF5R indeed gets a stateside release, we’re all gonna have to jump on the NTSC-J copies.
I’d rather see it on the PS3 for the simple fact I can play it without modding ANOTHER system.
ps3 is not region free, blu ray is. So unless the game is on blu ray it is not region free. Plus the netcode on the 360 version is pretty good and only needs slight modification

IIRC, blu-ray isn’t region free, it is just that North America and Japan are a part of the same region, so it is all good for most people here where it is as good as being region free. Unless you are looking to import some blurays from China or something, then you’re screwed
I hope 5R gets a console release or even just a DLC. Since it has 2 new/returning characters it can warrant another release (like Evo did after 4. Evo added Goh & Brad).

Also I doubt it, but while the net play was okay code wise, the interface and setup was clumsy at best, so it would be nice if they beefed that up a bit too.
Anyone know if the older levels are in VF:R? I wouldn’t mind if they were gone, because the new ones are awesome, but it would be a nice addition.
they still are. different times of the day and different music though i beleive. its like remixed. Think of the stages in tekken 5 to the new stages in T5DR.

That’s exactly what some of the new stages are. But they also have different wall configurations from the old ones. Did you really mean the old stages or are you confusing them with the VF5R stages (which are the old stages with different lighting/music/wall configs)?
Either way it’s likely, they did the same thing with 4 to Evo, even when they made the ring out stages bigger in Evo rofl.
