The Virtua Fighter 5:R thread... It's in Japanese arcades!

Every time my broken heart begins to heal, somebody bumps this thread and all the old wounds are torn open again.

edit: I’ll bet Sega will do their thing and release the new update right before SBO again so that everybody has to play on a new and unfamiliar version.

This kinda gives me something to hope for.
Like we didn’t get T6.0 and AH2.0 but only the latest versions, this maybe the same case with 5R.

I done handcuffed lightning…

I just hope we get this soon, I’ve been waiting for this ever since I bought VF5 and R got announced like a week later…

On a couple of sidenotes…I never realized how execution-heavy this game was until I got my first stick the other day and started doing command time attacks just to complete them.I always told myself ‘When I get a stick, this stuff will be much easier’, and so far a lot of it is, but the timing is really strict on some of these moves and my hands are having a lot of trouble getting this stuff out XD

Second, and last…anyone else hope they put a quest mode in the console port of VF5R as well?I really enjoy the Quest mode of VF5 and Dojo mode of Tekken 5 DR, the whole ranking up thing is cool and it makes for a much more engaging single-player experience than aa normal arcade/survival mode for…well, people like me who lack in competition and can’t be arsed to play online all the time.

I’ve been waiting for a console verion from the day it was announced for the japan arcade, but sega seems doesn’t care about it.
I think we 'll never play this game on a console:shake:

I’ll be invincible beyond all imaginatioooooon!!!

That quote would’ve been the shit if he thugged it some, but he said it so uber-white…pure comedy.

While I think the odds are better now than this time last year, I’m still trying to not get my hopes up.

Geez, quit reviving this thread if you don’t have any actual information on the subject to update. :annoy:

I’m an investigative journalist. I work in NYC. I am obsessed with VF.

I know that Sega of Europe and America discussed porting the game and decided not to. Sega of Japan hasn’t even discussed porting the game yet and wouldn’t even consider allowing someone to buy a VF5R machine for private (home) use in America. So none of Sega’s branches are even in talks of porting the game anymore.

A new version of VF5R is set to debut soon in Japan. Sega is focused entirely on the arcade. Lock this thread until VF5FT.

*cries

Question: If VF5 for the PS3 got the arcade updates as DLC, how ‘big’ in MB/GB would the size be for it?

WINNER: Jacky

"Y-y-yo son, I got this lightning shit in a chokehold B. Kinda like how ya baby’s mama be vice-gripping my penis, ya understand? But she fuck up when she wanna hold a convo and I gotta tell her, BITCH… LESS TALK, MORE SUCTION!! But yea, I’m invincible son… "

Can’t happen no matter the size. Sega has confirmed that the PS3 version cannot be updated as the original code written for the game doesn’t allow for major changes to be patched on later.

That is why the PS3 version is permanently stuck as version B while the 360 version is version C and has been given updates and could be updated in the future (not that it’s going to happen).

LOL. A reverse T6BR dilemma.

Can we say Tek = PS, VF = Xbox.
Of course not. Xbox is t~n~a, umm DOA…

Sega can make something happen. The reality of it is, “Do they want to?” We’re obviously being punished for not buying enough copies of Sonic Unleashed.

It’s now or never for Sega.

They have been saving an announcement for this Friday for a game they will be unveiling at E3.

No confirmation on if it is 5R but it’s the closest thing that Sega has said about the game (which is nothing really).

Either prepare for a VF renaissance or a nuclear meltdown on VFDC.

one can only hope right now

Is a VF5R OST too much to ask for? ;-;

I think the success of SFIV might get them to port it over.

Hmm, guys I wouldn’t get my hopes up too much for this Friday’s announcement being VF5R.

They said it’s not a ‘Huge Surprise’ so while that could be Virtua Fighter, don’t be too upset if it’s Iron Man 2 or Thor or something dissapointing like that.

Then again, 09 is turning out to be a hell of a year for fighters. Make an announcement now, and have something on show at TGS 09 perhaps?

I’ll have my fingers crossed.
