Well if you’re really into a game like VF or possibly just fighters in general, people tend to stick to their one character that they’re going to use in the session and never pick anyone else.
Win 3 rounds and 45 second rounds are the standard.
A lobby shouldn’t matter if you make friends on the list and just invite and play private games, cause that’s how it always ends up, to prevent lag.
Also on or offline in general, can;t tell you how often me and my friends or opponents would just stick to our one character and play like that the whole time on whichever fighter we’re playing.
I do agree that not having the options there on the interface sucks, but I know that I didn’t use that stuff like that anyway whenever I would play live games.
I didn’t really give my personal opinion. That’s just the results from scumming GameFAQs.
Oh, and here’s another report:
Apparently, both players in an online game use the 1P Controls setting. So the host’s controls applies to both players. Everyone goes on to remark about how it doesn’t really matter since most people use the default controls… but I can easily see how this could be abused.
Can anybody confirm or deny this with some degree of accuracy? It seems like a bug.
I don’t use default controls.
I play on the xbox hori’s, and I set it up to be like: Punch(capcom jab) Kick(capcom strong) and Guard(capcom short).
All the other buttons on the stick i set it to Not Used. This is how i do it on the vf5 demo, and on vf4evo on the ps2 I set it up the same way with the other buttons Not Used.
Seems like there’s a way around it. Taken from Game Faqs as well:
Are you sure? Cause from what I have heard, you have to set up your controls for both the first and second player. If you are used to playing first and you join a game as a second player, it will have the default controls unless you changed them before hand.
Again, this is what I have read at VFDC. I could be wrong though.
That sounds like the stupidest thing ever if that was true. I’m more inclined to believe what Bare Knuckle 2 said about configuring both sides beforehand to play on Xbox Live. You had to the same thing on Fatal Fury Special XBLA.
That’s what I posted up. Yeah, you have to set up your first and second player controls before going online. If you don’t and you get second player, you will be stuck playing the default second player controls.
And from what I have read/spoken to, you can rematch just in non ranked matches.
That’s all cool by me, a little extra work and really I only want to play with one dude at a time. DoA like rooms are cool but if I want to socialize I would play IRL. Plus the way ranking is setup seems to suggest Sega doesn’t want faggots taking their rank seriously like they do on DoA.
-Online and offline records are the same? So if I get to Champion in Quest mode, I’ll be Champion online?
-No money or items through online wins (doesn’t make sense if the above is true).
-No lobbies, only quick match (ranked)?
Whaaaack. Gona try later myself, havn’t tried yet. FallingEdge and I all eager and nerdy, stopped by a Target last night, homeboy said their electronics come in shipments on Fridays. So I’ma try Targets today too (Since this is their only Friday to have it before next Weds.)
