How to knee:

thumb for G, middle finger for K, both held rigid.
Push K down as you scrape (not push) the edge of the G button.

Check out the new ver. C combos with Akira as well, like superlaunch throw->P->6KP->double palm, massive damage.

Also jeffery players, Ver. C Jeff does SO MUCH DAMAGE OMG.

Can you say, horrible recovery, 40+ dmg counterattack guaranteed on guard, clashes at -4 or worse despite being a jumping knee :wink:

It’s about time Jeff’s knee did enough damage to balance out its weaknesses.

Knee is functionally the same as every other characters big launcher. Almost all big launchers got nerfed a ton in VF5. The only big launchers that are functionally better than everyone elses is Akira’s Knee (which has a learning curve and can be hard to rely on in clutch moments) and Lei Fei bs 33PP (gayest launcher ever).

That Jeff can basically get unthinkable damage on normal hit and probably floating at half life status on MC gives him great strength. Makes the risk worth it.

Playing against Jeffry will teach people to block and evade properly right quick lol. And to be patient. I wonder if he would be the best ‘scrub killer’ online… hmmm…

He is great for that offline. 4KP kills sooooo much.

PheonixDTH has the greatest newb-training Jeffery every. Advantage -> Knee or Splash Mountain. 50/50 of doom lmao.

Was ver C. ever tiered in this thread?

Man i really want to play some vf. Someone stole my 4evo in Qatar, so im waiting on 5.

Unfortunately Arcadia has not made an article on the tier in ver. C however I can imagine.

Pai and Shun goes down.
Lei Fei goes up, possibly Vanessa and Brad since they weren’t effected much.
Jeff, Lau, Akira go up.
Sarah and Aoi will probably stay where they are at.

I thought that Sarah leveled up though.

What with her launchers getting some respect again.

We’ll see whom I have easiest time creating a gameplan with, between Jacky and Sarah(that Trinity design is the truth you know it haha).

I never liked VF before but this one is really fun from what I’ve seen. I look forward to learning the game from some of the better players when it drops for 360.

Well lemme explain, the dudes at Arcadia screwed up when they posted ver. C sarah updates.

Sarah’s launchers aren’t really any different except for one which is really useful but not a huge deal.

The biggest dissappointment is the bug with Flamingo K, this move in VF4 traditionally granted a guaranteed follow up on Counter hit, now it guarantees nothing not even the string enders, which is a horrible blow to the overall effectiveness of Flamingo stance. However normal hit Flamingo K does give more normal hit adv but that really isn’t a big thing for me.

Otherwise the other differences are:

2KK combos on normal hit
9K will allow for a combo on normal hit (biggest upgrade)
6K+GK causes a sideturned situation with big advantage
Light weights cannont escape down attack after 4P+G and 61P+G throw

That’s pretty much it.

I can’t say much for Sarah unfortunately but what about Aoi? Didn’t Nuki along with a few other players state that she got noticeably better?

I havent seen it mentioned, so sorry if its old news, but the VF5 demo is up for download on XBL. I’m downloading it now.

The only big change Aoi really got was her K+G gives her +9 on hit and +12 on counter hit (allowing for some dirty side turned nonsense).

While that helps when you are dealing with evaders and other stuff it’s not that great given K+G is 25 frames.

Her other stuff is 43P+K is +1 on hit
and her 3/9P+K is -1 on hit instead of -2

Don’t know why but I’m really excited about this game. Never really played it before except way back when it was released for the PS2(VF4 i think). Thought it had one of the best tutorials for a fighting game but unfortanely no one else I knew played it so it got shelved. Sure things will be different now that you can have human opponents readily available. Going to have this the day it comes out so if someone wants to scrub it up with me just toss out an invite. Better yet if a seasoned vet needs a punching bag and cares to share some wisdom invite also. Hope to see some of you in game.

I miss club sega akihabara (don’t miss the fog of cigarette smoke though)
