I guess VF just hates ol’ jeffery. Tons of other matchs of characters doing there obligatory ring out them selves as well, and the win still registers correctly. But the poor black man cant catch a break.
LOL Sean showed that to me earlier, I think it’s because the ring out in that stage registers really late (I’ve seen it in other matches, it registers when the character ‘sinks’ to the bottom). What I can’t figure out is why Jeff’s ring out registeres immediately. It might be because black people can’t swim very well so he sinks to the bottom really fast.
lol…
Seems like a random ass bug to me. Wolf doesnt even splash or anything, jeffery just throws him and he disapears. Maybe theres a certain distance from where you can be rung out where the game just doesnt register that splash animation. That seems a little far fetched though but whatever. All I know is it would be great to see that kinda thing happen in the finals of some omega huge tournment. And then lots of contervesy and drama and then explosions and what not.
Yah, that vid is screwy but Jeffry definitely gets love in VF5. :wgrin:
Check out the first round, surprise exchange into wall followed by offensive move knee then into low back throw. That’s all guaranteed. Brad fails to escape the ground throw and Jeff adds in a foot stomp. 90% damage :amazed:
 that shit was funny because of Jeff’s back story.
Random question - this is still the “ver.A” of the game no?
That Brad vs Jeffry vid was too good. I’ve decided to save up for an import PS3 core package, VF5 and VF5 arcade stick. Probably still won’t find anyone to play tho’
EDIT: NM about R?. AM2 is still working out the kinks.
Hey, anyone here on SRK living in Cali gonna get this game?
I want to find console comp just in case no arcade picks the game up. :wgrin:
^ I am.
Same here, and I’ll play it good too:tup:
Im surprised that one arcade hasn’t gotten the game yet!!!
There is only ONE arcade setup outside of Japan. That is the E3 display model which is currently located at a Gameworks near Chicago.
Sega has setup that the VF5 software so it can only run in Japan. It requires VF.Net and its on a rental lease system.
This has pissed off the foreign VF communities: US, EU, HK, ROC, KOR. :arazz:
Everyone outside of Japan who wants to play VF5 before it comes out for PS3 has to either go to Japan or Chicago. To top that off, the Chicago setup might not last there either. It was put there as a tryout basis along with Psy Phi (which got dumped and won’t get an official release I believe).
^Why must Sega be gay like that? No seriously who makes these decisions in Sega JPN? They should be tied and quartered.
Oh wells I guess THE ONLY WAY to enjoy this game here in the US is pay out your ears on console… -_-
Hey overmind, I know another guy in Corona who plays VF, maybe we can have hang and play when this comes out seeing as Sega wants this game to die in arcades outside of JPN.
Considering how much the setup costs, the fact that they’ll probably want to unnecessarily localize it, THEN still make it compatable with the JPN version, and the fact that the US community alone is horribly fragmented, I’m not surprised they didn’t risk it. That’s the price of a high quality game I guess.
Sega are selling VF5 kits that will fit into standard cabs and play at 4:3 resolution in Japan. I think they go for under 4K. But I believe they still fall under the active VF.Net account and lease for software.
I really liked that Sega integrated VF.Net more with this release but its not necessary to enjoy the game. The VF5 E3 model is proof of that. VF4 didn’t need the network up to play but I think every arcade in Japan had it setup anyway. Also, VF.Net was not available 24/7. It would shut down around 10-11PM everyday. I wonder if they have it running non-stop for VF5 so people can save their matches, use VF Terminal and view VF.TV at any given time.
I can understand Sega ignoring the Western market but I was shocked they neglected Honk Kong, China and Korea.
Can anyone put up a link explaining the Japanese VF.Net system in English.
I want to know what all these orbs mean, and how to change colors, buy new items more quickly.
I don’t think there is a translation page of VF.Net into English, sorry. Someone translated how to create an account in English, I can find the link if you want.
You should try posting at http://wannafight.us. The forum has a few American VF’ers living in Japan and they are fluent in written Japanese.
I had a VF.Net account but I deactivated it months ago right before VF5 debuted. I don’t read Japanese but I would log in at home via PC and highlight links and translate them through Google. It took me some time but I figured out how to purchase and customize my characters clothes and moves.
I imagine your using a VF.Terminal and they only give you 5 minutes; that would suck for anyone not knowing the language.
When you get 7 orbs it unlocks one of the 2 extra costumes. You can only have 2 costumes on a card though.
I’m looking forward to this game’s A.I.
Because I will be playing
