I loved Apocalypse Suite, Dallas had a pretty ‘meh’ ending, but the ride was fun.

Well I thought the first book was good, not to my taste, but I can tell if a comic is good even if it isn’t my cup of tea.
Oddly enough I feel compelled to reread the first book again someday…

I haven’t read Dallas yet. (Waiting for the TRADE, BABY.) But yeah, the first one is definitely one of the best new mainstream comics to come out in the past few years. It’s got a very Morrison-esque sensibility to it, and it really does feel like a modern day, new-school Doom Patrol. It’s got a lot of heart buried beneath the high concepts and zany ideas and kickass art. I owe my life to Clinty for hooking me up with that TRADE, BABY.

Also, The Umbrella Academy is so good that ViciousSlash and I both joined the My Chemical Romance fanclub just on principle.

not a big MCR fan (only song I like is their cover of Desolation Row), but Gerard can definitely write.

There was a black friday sale at golden apple comics and that was the same day Gerard Way was gonna be there to sign copies of umbrella academy. I bought the Apocalypse Suite trade (along with numerous other trades) and as I was walking out with it in my hand, there was a line of girls, probably all under 18, all wearing black and pink or whatever that style is, there was an army of them practically, and I was walking out with apocalypse suite in my hand. I felt like a huge fan-girl.

I liked apocalypse suite, it was a page turner. I was more entertained by that free comic book day preview that was added at the end of the trade, where the boy sends one of his brothers back in time trying to test out his time travel machine, classic! i’m a fan of MCR as well, before I knew about the comic

I’m not much of a MCR fan (I wouldn’t mind Way’s autograph, tho), but yeah, the FCBD issue was awesome.

I have the first trade, and every regular issue. Love the series, and can’t wait for more.
