The Ultra Inevitable Street Fighter V Story Thread

No, that was the Kanzaki SF2 manga

It had shadaloo brainwashed Ken before SF2tAM

Guile vs Zangief before SF2V anime and likely SF4 guys took there the general idea of Gouken’s look as a big bald bearded man

Street fighter in ebonics were rhe best

I doubt it since Gouken look is based on Akuma’s Alpha 1 ending

This is fucking ART.

That’s true but even sfa1 Gouken i think was based/inspired on Kanzaki manga design(i added the pic in the post above), wich came out before

Kanzaki manga was 1993, SFA 1995

It was Kanzaki who came up with Gouken’s basic design and name, Capcom made it canon with SFA.

Can confirm Ken was scalped and was supposed to come back.

Can confirm SFII manga came out before Alpha and inspired Gouken’s design in Alpha.

I think we’ve discussed the latter in this thread actually

Also that Malibu comic was atrocious but, of course, I own all the issues. Just like I own all the Mortal Kombat comic issues

I have still those malibu comics, SF brazilian comics was better.

Which was posted in this thread but the weirdest was the Evil Ryu in SFV2 Manga and the Cyber Evil Sean in the SF3 Manhua.

I’m billing you guys for my counseling sessions. You all have brought my Malibu Street Fighter comic PTSD back.

Why are those Brazilian comics so goddamn mental?

Have you seen all the metal coming out of Brazil.

Had a friend whose sister’s room was exorcised after listening to the early Sepultura albums.

In a better timeline, the Malibu comics were canon and it formed the basis for SF ideas over UDON.

I got the scans of all of the SF2 brazilian cómic, its all in portugués so I barely understand it (my main language is Spanish). They look very interesting tbh, I’d love to have some English translation of those.

Haha that was my first SF reading material accesible together with the cartoons and later anime Sf2v.

I remember I was excited when it i heard that SF was having a comic series but it kinda bizzare one reading it.

Yet Ken losing hair along with others that time like Wolverine losing adamatium, Reign of Superman was kinda 1st those times, unlike nowadays.

Yeah along with the Chinese Manhua where the Evil Sean that is just a head later.

And in that timeline Ken gets a taunt in 3S where he takes off his hair and tips it at you like a hat.

In our country we had also 2 SF clone like comics that characters were inspired by SF characters and the other was kids like SF.

I liked the one with the ripoff series before. they were not a reinterpration but a inspired with and had a different names.

Like Cyber Claw exactly like claw but had cybernetic body and two claws. Which was the most popular character of the series. He not a narcist villain but a protagonist here instead.

A Voodoo Dhalsim.

A Sagat with a cybernetic eye.

A Ken with gun weilding and secret spy.

A Ryu with a Samurai.

A Chunli that has a magical girl transformation

A environmentalist Blanka like character

They had their own series and sometime they crossover towards each other stories later they were into a also fighting MK ripoff characters and others character merge into one series that they travel into the future fighting xmen rip off characters too.

Same publisher also did a darkstalker and wwf rip off series.

I have a few issue of sf and ds ripoff that I have kept one cover was a subzero rip off was carrying the rip off guile’s head in one of comics covers.

This is why kinda cyberpunk fan even those genre wasn’t classified properly those times.

Those comics also had video game cheats, movelist and secrets.

I’ll post it sometime if I would had the spare time I managed to kept some and find a few online locally signed by one of their artist from my vintage finding stuff.

The best part about the MM ones was that Capcom only wanted them just to translate the Rockman 7 manga but they literally just ignored and did their own thing. I’ll be honest though, the whole concept behind the plot had some potential

I’m not sure about that. Where I’m from, all the gory shit in HnK and Detective Conan as well nude scenes in Nadia Blue water was straight up shown at a kids channel, in the morning too, I could think of more examples. Best part was that no-one complained. I was 6 when all of that happened.

From the little I understand From the Brazilian SF2 cómic, it looks to me like what a more game acurate early 90s SF anime would’ve been. I am aware of SF2V From 1995 but that anime was more its own thing.

Speaking of comics, I happen to have both the scans of a Brazilian comic series based on SFII and I own the actual 4 issues of another Brazilian series based on Alpha 3.

The Apha one in particular looked relatively nice. Besides, I recall that there’s a scene with naked Rose (you can’t actually see anything, but it’s still naked Rose).
