Rather than using drill after a blocked H (which I’m still in the habit of doing), I’ve been wondering if instead using servebot launcher would make it safe. It looks like Tron recovers relatively quick, and if an opponent tries to press a button, they might get bopped by the servebot. I guess it’ll just require some testing in real matches.
if it’s on block, I go for f.H as it’s +1 (hard to punish but i think you can get punished before the rock toss). if it’s on whiff, yeah you can try the dp…
boulder is pretty decent in general…since it’s a command normal, you’re free to call lockdown assists, which allow you to begin her fair high/low game.
off a blocked sH, I’ll cancel into fH and call shopping cart if they AG her sH in a way that pushes her back
if they don’t AG the sH I can cancel into fH anyway and be at frame advantage (can try to delay the fH if feeling ballsy), even able to go for frametraps in some cases. her cM normal seems to be capable of beating their pokes if spaced correctly.
there’s also my option to call drones during the fH, then mashing H-Drill long enough for Drones to keep them in blockstun…
course she can’t cancel into command normals on whiff…
A close friend of mine plays Deadpool Doom (with missiles) and Arthur. Does anybody have any tips on getting through the zoning on this team with Tron? I find it almost impossible…
Is there any other footage of Tron matches at EVO? I missed Marvel pools because I was flying to Florida that day :(. You did REALLY good Rikir, nice to see some Tron play (and Arthur too ;)).
Tron has a tough time dealing with zoners. The best shot is to time the use of j.H/H, and standing S. These moves have projectile invulnerability on the fists, so if timed correctly you can nullify projectiles. Some characters can easily be punished this way. I actually find that the Tron vs. Dormmamu match up isn’t to bad because Tron can nullify and punish him off most of his projectiles. I could use some advice on how to deal with missles too though, I got shut down in my winners finals match at EVO by a Chris backed by Doom missles. >.<
Firstly, f.M can nullify projectiles, and to some extent, j.S. Secondly, you must be crazy to think the Dormammu matchup is okay… Dormammu’s crouching B alone can beat anything Tron has, and her big ass body makes it really hard to block carpet teleport j.S + beam mixups.
Well the best way to approach Dorm is just to get the first IAD and keep on that ass so he never gets a chance to use it. Hes pretty apathetic if he cant move.
see, maybe you are tired. what you’re saying is that i have to be the first to get an IAD j.S or something in before dorm has time to do anything, but it also has to be after waiting for the right opportunity – which basically means the dormammu made a mistake, because realistically there’s nothing dorm throws out that’s that unsafe, and he’s usually covered by an assist or that 1 frame spell. idk
maybe im just salty cuz ive tried this matchup all the time but i still cant beat wentinel
Dorm is a punk. I recall a couple instances were I think my Tron went unharmed when using either standing H or f. B when Dorm used one of the purification pillars on her. Like, the pillar was clearly where Tron was, but Tron was spinning around and I guess the H nullified it. When it comes to playing against Dorm, Tron probably becomes more reliant on her assists to try and back up her approach. What’s annoying though is that sometimes when you’re in close in and Dorm’s face, he’ll teleport away and back off again.
