^ I feel like that guy could manage his meter a lot better…(I honestly still have yet to see a Tron that doesn’t make me say this). I love his ground footsies with her though…
More hype than vs. Wentinel, but still kinda underwhelming. Double beacon bomb reset might be worth investigating, but I’m not sure if it’d really be any better than resetting off of drill…
Dude, the Taylor vs. Noah match was pretty great. The last match was a total beatdown! Taylor’s Tron really is pretty beastly (with those drones to back him up), but he’s got a pretty sweet Deadpool, too.
I don’t think I saw him call Deadpool a single time. Wouldn’t he be able to get a Clakey D ender off of Katana-Rama? It would allow him to use Drones for approach more.
He uses the low hitting assist IIRC which doesnt OTG.

I actually dont think he even meant to do two, he probably just wanted to go into Lunch time or something. There was really no need for a reset.
yeah tbh Taylor didn’t impress me that much, it seemed like he just called drones and just went crazy. didnt seem to have touch of deaths and can’t properly end combos if he used drones to get in
Wow tough tron crowd lol. Anyway in my games against Noah the double beacon bomb was unintentional. My deadpool my was supposed to come out and the beacon bomb would stop them higher in the air but sadly about halfway through the tournament my assist 2 button started acting stupid which also had me not able to finish combos that started with sentinel drones forcing me to go for resets. Also in my game against fanatiq I played absolutely terrible because I had to play on a Xbox pad instead of my usual ps3 pad which was the reason for my numerous drops. I’m of course not trying to make excuses or claim to be an “amazing tron” since I still have a long way to go but I would like to clear up any confusion as to why I missed so many things and made so many mistakes. Btw I apologize if this is coming off as rude in anyway or if it has a lot of mistakes because typing on a iPhone is kind of difficult at times.
Haha don’t let us nerds discourage you though, you are doing amazing things by going out to tournaments and playing especially at your age. It sucks that your controller acted up – so I suppose I should reserve judgment until we see you get adjusted with your pad and all that. Your Deadpool is clutch too, that was pretty hype.
If you have questions or want some advice we’re here to help. And lastly, we’re not suggesting your Tron is bad at all, we’re just pointing out some mistakes that you can work on and hopefully have smoothened out by your next tourney. Good luck
Thanks I appreciate it also I figured abusing drones and going nuts would work on Noah considering no offense to him at all of course but he doesn’t normally block and abuses hyper armor so calling deadpool wouldn’t be safe anyway. Just a quick question though I don’t have a ton of problems combo wise but I have a lot of problems movement wise I just can’t move with her fast enough without looking like some random nut lol. On a side note though I can’t believe my launcher didnt come out with deadpool against Wentinel -_-
I notice when you try to approach its the same jump --> airdash --> j.S approach and if they block, you do dash up c.L and call drones, and if they block that you try again. Against I would totally advise against this when playing someone like Wentinel, cuz he is really good at airthrowing… I think all those times he got tagged by the j.S was him going up to meet you and throw you out of the air (which he does to me lol). In the second match he played the matchup properly and just gunshot you as you were holding forward trying to get in. Tron is too fat to duck the bullets so if you’re getting locked down by that, try s.H --> drill + drones to nullify some of his projectiles, or even f.M for the same effect.
Also, don’t be afraid to super jump with Tron if you like coming down with j.S. Try to alternate movement with ground wavedashes (I saw you missed some OTGs because you only wavedashed once, not twice etc) with empty jumps, retreating airdashes, etc. I also would have liked to see some more command throw setups when you had your opponent cornered and on an incoming character, go for the ambiguous crossunder s.H to corner relaunch, or crossunder dash c.L etc. Those are pretty strong, I don’t think your opponents fell for beacon bomb + drones ever.
So my overall suggestion mainly to improve movement is learn to get comfortable with her ground wavedashes instead of going for the airdash j.S all the time. If you’re good with her ground mobility then you can start to threaten spaced c.Ms, dash up c.L (which you can use to bait a block then go into command throw, etc)
I was too scared to command grab because I figured Noah would just randomly press buttons out of it lol and against Wentinel I only had a few chances that I definitely should have taken but thanks I have to use those to help tron get in. Kind of a shame that I played a few games and u already see what I do >.> oh well haha. Sometimes I don’t even really do it intentionally it just comes too natural for me. I hate those stupid habits u have to work on breaking. My sentinels pretty bad too though so I think I kind of relie on deadpool too much.
Yeah, deadpool in XF is scary, especially with how fast he can cancel guns to teleport for that self-mixup similar to Dormammu. I think if Wentinel caught on he would’ve snapped in your deadpool early, leaving you with two big bodies to try to block his mags and dormammu mixups (insane and frustrating… when i play him I can audibly call out the mixup he does but still cant block it lol). So try to work on your movement with Tron and your incoming character mixups because if she’s anchor it’s going to be very difficult for you to get a hit in otherwise. I know from experience that jumping at a Dormammu (or at least, wentinel’s) doesn’t work even with j.S, as dorm’s crouch M or s.S beats everything.
One thing that would improve your game a lot is just using stronger combos. I saw a few times, you would land a clean j.S, and then go into ground ABC launch, which scales the damage heavily. Even if you just did j.S, Air series, relaunch (quickwork + d.H should work), Air series, ClakeyD ender, you’d end up with enough damage to kill wesker in one hit.
Another simple thing you can start doing is boxjumping with a superjump+airdash instead of the regular jump.
Otherwise, keep it up! Keep going to all these tournaments and you’ll be one-upping all of us in no time.
It’s great how you do a good job at capitalizing off dropped combos/resets but…you do know that Tron can easily instead ToD most of the characters you used them on, no? I also noticed you didn’t follow up air throws or neutral jump Drills as well as you could have. I’m not sure how much of the below you already know but:
As noted, IAD-jS isn’t always going to be a good move (seems to be great against dudes mashing pushblock though). jM is a better air-to-air in some cases (i.e. Dorm at neutral jump height while you’re grounded) since it’s incredibly fast (9f?), chains to jS (you can even hitconfirm double jM before that at some heights) and most importantly, has the disjointed hitbox that will beat almost everything in front of her (it’s even a fully comboable instant overhead on larger characters).
As for ground movement, you can cancel a blocked ground normal into Bandit Boulder (btw, why weren’t you using this in your OTG extension? it adds damage/meter) and it’ll force them to block another projectile while leaving Tron at +1. Hope this helped…
