The Ultimate Magnus Thread. The godlike stuff

you just plink the boxdash into a blast as you’re crossing em up, the blast will autocorrect

Any analog pad players here? I need help air dashing while in fly. I look like a retarded bird when I do it :frowning:

I map my R2 button (on PS3) to L+M

MasaBlade you bastard, using Team Mihe instead of Mags. I should put you on the ignore list :I

(Good shit though, I like your play)

Hope you all won’t mind me asking a dumb question (and yes, I used the search bar first).

Someone brought to my attention that it was possible to escape Shockwave on block by pushblocking. Naturally to me this is kinda interesting since so many Mag players like to use it as a GTFO move.

Only seems to kinda work if I’m up close to Mags and pushblock one of the first pillars. Is there a consistent way to escape Magnetic Shockwave’s blockstun from anywhere, or is this just a situational tool?

Considering the amount of hits shockwave does varies so much just based on distance and hurtbox size, I’d be willing to be there’s no way to know when it’ll work. Just push block madly and hope for the best.

After doing what Kanta said to practice hit-confirms with the cpu, I’ve realized that well…I’m really really bad at marvel in general T_T HELP!

I don’t know where to start, there’s really no Marvel guides that help with this, the Finger Cramp vids pretty much just show you beginner combos and other small stuff, but they don’t teach you Marvel. Do you guys know of any certain specific things to read or vids to watch to learn and get better at the game, also I literally have no offline competition being on the road A LOT for work… =(

It’s good that you’ve asked because I believe one of the regulars on one the magnus threads are putting together a video on magneto movement such as, trijumps and the like so be on the look out for it in the Video thread or here.

What uses does st.L have other than to stop jump ins? Also, does st.M have any application whatsoever or should I stay away from that move like a 300 pound hooker?

i think st.:L: is a good normal period being that’s its really fast and comboable. st.:m: i just never used because i’m usually, with magneto in this case, playing footsies using air:l:,:m:,:h: or air :s:

I’ll be on the look out, thanks for the heads up…btw, every time I see your avatar pic and read your name I think of the movie Bones lol

st.M is a decent anti air. you can use st.M, cr.H, S after you confirm a st.L for better anti air conversions. for example… If Spencer does his box dash grapple without the proper assist, or if you’re assist protects you from Spencer’s assist, that’s a free st.L or st.M anti air. most players do st.L, st.L, S, fly combo, but you can get better damage if you do st.L/st.M, cr.H, S. you can do stuff like… ROM, Tokido’s fullscren BNB, or if near the corner EMP/HGrab loop, but most Mag Blast combos don’t work.

st.M also sets up resets after long combos that seem to air tech lower to teh ground than hte usual st.L

Ika did you ever post the full version of ur mag reset vid?

I blame Kanta Kun for the delay. probably be out after rayray vs fanatiq

Project Magnus:D

Shoutouts to Sanford for doing actual Magneto combos while hating and not taking this game seriously.

project magnus is mad on delay and it’s totally on me. I deserve the shit talk, real talk

yooo fuck you kanta :stuck_out_tongue:

oh but btw I’m sure you know this, but on low rom you can do j.L j.M addf j.H repeat.

yeah I know. that vid was on M because I thought it looked prettier and closer to the old mvc2 rom :<

Dunno if you guys have seen Alukard run Team Combofiend (Mag/IM/Sent), but he looks fucking legit.
