The Ultimate Korean Arcade Part FAQ!

Ok so which stick parts (the whole entire thing)

Are the parts they use in for Tekken in Korea. I want to know like all the exact specifications before I buy something.

Does anyone know of another case other then the Saulabi that is retail (non-custom), specifically one that doesn’t have start and select right next to the main buttons?

Where is the Home button on the Saulabi 4k? No pictures show it.

there is no Home button on the Saulabi 4K. I converted my 4K to wireless and installed my own Home button on the front face of the stick.

Very informative thread =) good job

No only Crown rubber rings can go into other sticks, and not the other way around. The Crown ring is small and circular while Taeyung is larger and square.

Joystick = Myunshin Fanta
Buttons = 203C Crown snap-in/screw-ins

For modding w/ Saulabi or stick.pe.kr sticks you’ll need to use 203A snap-in only buttons. They’re functionally the same it’s just that the 203C’s are too long for use with Korean made joysticks.

Thought I’d contribute some measurements. They may be a bit off and are in imperial measurements. (inches)

Thank you very much RTdesign, much appreciated.

For the sake of completeness, anyone has the measurements for Crown sticks ? (especially mounting holes)

I believe all of the Korean arcade sticks; crown, myoungshin and Teayeoung, have mounting plates and holes that are the exact same measurements. If the case will fit one korean stick, than it will fit any of those three brands.

I don’t have a crown, but I have a Myoungshin and worn out Teayeong and they are almost the same. I was even able to swap shafts. Pictured above is a Teayeoung base with a Myoungshin shaft.

The shaft of the stick is a little longer (just enought so that it won’t fit perfectly into a plastic Saulabi without a bit of extra modding (i.e. removing the weight at the bottom). I could’ve just about sworn there were some official measurements laying around somewhere. I’ll try to find/link to them.

Are there any exact dimensions of Crown buttons floating around? I have an incomplete custom that I’d like to use the screw-ons for. I’m concerned there might not be enough space for the nuts (the case seems to be made for Seimitsus, with maybe 5mm between button holes).

^ Go to samducksa.com and check out the button section they got it there. Since you’re talking about nuts I assume you want the CWB 203C’s. Either way they have both.

Dunno if it has been posted but I did some measuring:

I saw a vid of Nin and holeman using a saulabi with white crown buttons? do they come in white or are they different make of buttons, if different are they better or worse?

OMG thank you TRNG haha i was looking for that, and was actually drafting a message to Laugh on his site. Now i just need to patiently wait for my parts to arrive :slight_smile:

The front post should probably be updated, the hole for the stick is 35mm.

Two quick questions:

Are there any new Korean style sticks that don’t require soldering/de-soldering to install new buttons?

I currently use an HRAP3 modded with an LS-55, which I find a bit too stiff. People here seem to recommend the TaeYoung for 2D games for some reason, but according to kowal’s data, it’s incredibly stiff. Since I find the LS-55 too stiff, I was thinking of ordering the Crown CWL303, which according to kowal’s chart is slightly stiffer than an LS-55. Where did this rule of soft=3d, stiff=2d come from? If I want something stiffer than a JLF, but less stiff than an LS-55, which Korean stick should I get?

laugh I tried to PM you but your inbox was full or something.

I was wondering if you could hook me up with one of these sticks installed with crown buttons and the Myoungshin Fanta stick?

Wooden Korean stick PS3

I was told to by someone on tekken zaibatsu to ask you for help.:rock:

Are Crowns the same buttons in the Agetec Dreamcast stick? If I were to get some of these, would they be drop ins, or would I have to grind the control panel to fit them (like Sanwa/Seimitsu)?

The diameter of crown buttons is indeed 29mm correct or is it 28.5mm. Someone let me know if I am wrong

ahhhh thanks my friend now i can make the buttons fit snug in the holes. I appreciate it.
