Looks good, ive just ordered one. Ill post up my opinions when it arrives.
Looking forward to it. I know some people who will be interested…
Well my stick came today, it was basically falling apart. Bad quality and bad packaging. Not reccomended.
Im probably going to make a new case for it. How do I go about taking out crown 203C buttons? Also how how far should these buttons go down when you press them? They go down below the black rim on this stick.
no way! whaaaaat
Nothing wrong with the buttons and the stick though, right?
btw, I mounted a CWL 306 on a custom I made and just want to let you know that the Ultimate mod that people do on their JLFs works on that stick and it works like a charm w/ the mod. the buttons are pretty sweet too. flat is the way to go
Ye, the stick and buttons are working fine and the wiring is fine. He didnt use any glue on the case, just these kind of thin staples so it came apart with the crappy packaging he used. Ive glued it back together and its useable now.
I like the stick and the buttons but im just wondering if the buttons are going down too far when pressed. They go down a good bit below the the black rim. I dont remember the 203a going down this far. Maybe he didnt install them properly or is that just the way these buttons are?
weird, I’m using 203C on my stick and they stay about 0.5 mm above the black rim when fully pressed. Do all the buttons do that? you should check if the bottom part of the button (where the soldering is done) is tight on the button, maybe that part is hanging loose.
Ye its weird. I just tried what you said and they wouldnt budge any further up. Ill get some pics up.
Ive uploaded some pics. They are blurry but maybe somone can see something wrong.

EDIT: I just measured the top panel and its 11 mill. It says in this faq that it should be 13 mill. Could this be the problem?
It’s about time for an update.
As soon as I finish this round of dual mods, expect a large korean stick order from me
great thread thanks
Oh god, this stick just gets worse and worse. Thanks for letting me know, I knew something was off with these buttons.
Awesome thread. This thread should be stickied, IMO.
I have a question to those familiar with K-sticks:
To my understanding, both Myoungshin and Crown make low stiffness k-sticks. I was wondering among those two companies, which one comes out as the highest quality?
The feel on the bat-top is very important as well. I hate the matte feel – the kind of feel you can find on HAPP joysticks and the bat-top add-on for the Sanwa JLF joysticks. I lose grip whenever I play with bat-tops w/ the matte feel to them. On the other hand, I don’t lose grip when playing with ball-tops or bat-tops made of plastic, giving you a rubber-like feel for better grip. Haha, I hope that made sense.
By the looks of the sticks here, they appear to be similar in style to the stick that comes in the SFAC stick. Anybody know if they have a similar feel? I actually really like the stock stick that comes with it, and I’d like to build a custom with a similar feel.
What size QD’s do the sticks use? Is it .187? About to do some modding.
Yes, .187
Clarificacion.
Annyong Haseyo!
Long time reader, fist post.
I’m almost finished with college, now time for important things! Games! :wonder:
Before anything else, can some clarify the nomenclature used for the sticks on the first page, especially the hitting part. (diagonal = range 25 degree; hitting 75%)
If possible add Sanwas/Seimitsus and Happs/ILs for comparisons sake.
Thank you.
Howdy all. Markman pointed me to this thread as I want to add a Korean based stick to my builds.
Just had a few quick questions and I don’t know if they have a quick answer.
-
Would people be interested in a Korean based arcade stick when Tekken 6 hits the store? Most Tekken cabinets I have seen have all sanwa parts so I am wondering if people are just going to adapt to those parts?
-
If you had to pick one stick and one button type to go with which should it be. I can’t keep up inventory on all the different options, so I would go with the best stick and buttons possible.
-
Is there a reliable distributor to get these parts from?
Anything else I should know please pump me full of information.
Thanks.
SRK member: laugh, sells Korean parts via the Trading Outlet - I’ve never had the opportunity to try a Korean stick before but I am interested in possibly getting one after the new year.
Probably only in Korea. Although I did read a story about a Korean SFIV cab in Canada that ppl were pretty fond of.
It’s probably posted in this thread but Myungshin Fanta joysticks are the most popular and Crown 203A buttons (the snap-ins)
Laugh. If Paik4Life ever sells anymore him too.
Hi, I have a question
you can change the rubber of Taeyoung to Crown 305?
I have a fanta Taeyoung, but I’d like a Crown with more tension
