I am back from a tournament in Denver. I took 5th out of 32(or 34 I think) I went 5-2 in the tourney. I went Spidey/Dante/Doom the whole time and I lost to a player named Wombo Combo in winners and Sexy Mike in losers(a player who took top 32 at Evo) I won the first 2 games straight vs Wombo then he switched to his Magneto/Dorm/Doom team. I have tried everything but Dorm/Doom teams just give me trouble. I lost to Sexy Mike in losers (3-1) He plays Task/Hsien-ko(Doom)/Morrigan. I played really well against him but he is too good. I did well and managed to beat some pretty good players in my state but in the end I lost to really heavy zoning teams. I will still stick with this team, however, I might pick up Vergil and run Mamespider’s old team(Spidey/Doom/ Vergil) especially for the Morrigan or zoning stuff stuff. Dante just doesn’t have a decent way to tag assists full screen and he does very little damage for how hard you have to work in his combos. Usually after Spider-Man dies, he comes in against a full zoning setup and gets lamed out. At least Doom can fire back with plasma beam and finger lasers. Also I like how Vergil’s spiral swords eat Morrigan’s soul fist as well as make Morrigan have to be careful of how she uses soul fist stuff.

Anybody seen any Spidey/Strider players? Can’t seem to find any match footage of the duo.

Nice job at the tournament man, 5th is pretty damn good imo. I think you should build another team to fight zoners because, like you said, Dante doesn’t really help that much against them. Something with a beam assist might be nice.

Versus Dorm Spidey can punish charge builds and purification attempts on reaction with maximum spider. From there you can pop x-factor and kill him off or DHC into a character that fights against him better

What do you got with spidey/strider? Just lockdown like myself? Can you convert of an aerial vajra hit with spidey?

Spidey+Ryu is fine. I wonder what Joe’s doing on anchor position. Aside from extending combos with bomb, I have no idea how Joe works with Ryu/Spidey.

Yeah off the hard knockdown you can just zip otg, crM sH M webthrow, zip otg, sMH H spidersting, crH+call missiles S, jMMHS, and do whatever finisher

It’s not the greatest damage but you can go into UWT reset or TAC to doom if you feel the need.

overall it’s a pretty turtley team, you pick your spots by covering vajra calls with web balls and zips and some normals. if you don’t land a hit you back out and start setting up again.

That’s how I like to play, Just I don’t like Doom. Wesker is good in the second spot as u can TAC to him, gunshot, counter super, UWT. You can use the non XF tac tech with spidey (which is heavily unused)

Is there a way to cancel gunshot into super that I’m unaware of? I thought you had to THC it for it to cancel?

you don’t super cancel df+H for the reset

He usually calls Doom missiles then retreats behind Doom while powering up and laming out. I have a hard time finding an opening to tag him because usually Doom is in the way and when he doesn’t call Doom he is more careful about his button presses.

Well of course patience will win but you should still be able to tag him with MS even with Doom out before missile tag you. Obviously you want to make sure it counts. It Doom shouldn’t stop you.

you could try walking forward or dashing while you call the hidden missiles. jumping forward while calling HM might work too.

He’s just standing there. Xero, Roah, Airborne, Phantasy any of you guys have any idea?

i suggest jumping forward and calling doom when you’re above them.

The combo might not work on all characters.

It also might only work on that side if you don’t jump forward.

Haha, that’s my combo vid. For you to do that, you have to end the combo in the corner from sj :h: web swing :m: :m: :s: or :m: :h: :s:. The web swing combo allows you to finish and land close to the ground giving you enough time to call Doom and for his missiles to OTG. For smaller characters, you have to jump forward before you call Doom and use :h: web throw instead.
