The ULTIMATE, Friendly-Neigborhood, Spider-man Team-building Thread

I’m loving the Spidey/Storm love. They work fluidly together. I’m running Storm on point so I’ve been putting in lots of work with her but just the ability to annoy with web swing behind her covering him with typhoons and then Stark behind her for people trying to super jump over only to get hit with repulsor into combo of choice is wonderful. Plus that daaaaamage :lol: I can reset with her and either use two bars solo or dhc into Spidey on the fly and since they both are interchangeable in both positions I don’t lose much momentum. I’m definitely gonna stick with these two together for a while. I’m still debating on whether I’ll keep Iron Man as a third or default back to Doom with Missiles for stronger/easier CA followups in the corner. Plus Missiles help Storm’s zoning and offense soooooo much more… decisions decisions.

I have Tony there for rushdown/blockstring lockdown. Switching to Missiles means I lose blockstring annoyance. Using Storm I could stay in there for a tad bit but when missiles come down I either have to land the hit then or GTFO and recover thus losing momentum. Repulsor gives me lockdown/pushblock protection when used right and allows time for Storm to recover to go to her next, along with that said zoning/anti air coverage. Missiles give me the fullscreen annoyance with both characters but really does default the team to zoning. Spidey loses his basic assisted double web throw combos but gains stronger damage after CA. Damn my head hurts now. Mastery of either format could be a hella dangerous Spidey team especially if all characters became beast. FUCK YOU MARVEL AND YOUR CATERING TO MY STYLE ARGH!!!

Question about Storm/Spidey; do the following DHC’s work:
Hail Storm -> Maximum Spider
Lightning Storm -> Maximum Spider

Just checking because I want to make sure that I’ll have all possible DHC synergy listed on the OP’s when I get back to them.

spidey/hawkeye/doom is pretty much the only spiderman team i feel like playing.

Yes they do work both ways. Lightning Storm DHC Maximum Spider is the equivalent to MvC2’s LS xx HSF. Also let’s not forget Elemental Rage into CA and MS. Actually yeah the both DHC into each other flawlessly one way or another Storm even can setup for UWT

I would do this because I’ve seen this team & it’s really scary… but I just don’t like Hawkeye. that’s why I’m running Taskmaster

I ran taskmaster last game, so I was playing spidey/task/doom for a bit in early days of ult. I’m getting more and more accustomed to playing Hawkeye though, and I think overall the team is better with Hawkeye over Task.

I wish I liked the way Hawkeye played more. I love his character. He’s just awkward in game. :C

Yeah this is my main team at the moment. Been using the team since day 1. DHC synergy is great, assists help spidey and also extend his combos. Love this team.

Any suggestions for an anchor to Spidey and Hulk? And what assist I should be running?

It sounds like you need a space controlling assist, so I’d aim for someone like Doom, Dormammu, Sentinel, Taskmaster, Hawkeye, etc.

I ran Spidey, Hulk, Dormammu in Vanilla. I decided to switch to Spidey, Dormammu, Sent later cause Sent’s cruise missiles are way too helpful in helping you get in and is less bad than Hulk if he’s the last one left…

I suggest you do Spidey(swing), Hulk(Charge-Y) and Dormammu(Dark Hole). I prefer Dormammu in the second slot cause Spidey/Dormammu work really well DHCing into each other but you don’t want Hulk in the last slot so it’s kind of a toss up there. I agree with Doom(Missiles), Dorm(Dark Hole), Sent(Drones).

Does Iron Fist’s rising fang assist have other uses outside of extending combos? It is awesome for the web zip OTG but I don’t want to waste an assist just for combo extension.

It destroys low priority projectiles and “mutually nullifies” medium priority ones which I guess means they just both stop?

So yeah. That’s kinda neat.

So basically Rising Fang is a 1-hit Akuma assist that wall bounces?.. Well, except Akuma’s destroys medium durability.That’s pretty tight. Regardless, they essentially travel about the same distance.

What do you guys think about Nova/IronMan/Spidey or Nova/Spidey/Iron Man? Maybe Iron Man/Spidey/Nova? Still staying with my theory that the longer Spidey is kept alive, the better I will perform.

My brother uses Spidey/Zero/Nova (not sure about the order) and Nova’s damage seems really good and you can DHC out of his big orange ball hyper into maximum spider. I haven’t paid much attention to his meter building but it probably isn’t bad because you can get pretty high damage off of pretty simple combos. Also Nova’s wall bounce assist is pretty good for the OTG web zip.

Team looks solid. Great projectile assist in Task arrows and great extender/unblockable setup in nova. Plus, if Spidey dies, those characters are very capable on their own. Not the best DHCs between those two but still really good.

High damage potential but may get zoned though.

His meter building is self-sufficient, and he doesn’t even need to use his meter because he has INSANE resets and meterless combos. His DHC’s from Spidey to Nova are great as long as Maximum Spider is done from Web Throw or Spider Sting (perfect height to get every hit from Super Nova, which is by far the best Hyper Nova has to offer), but DHC’s from Nova to Spidey are *awesome *(aside from Happy Birthday combos… =). His Centurion Rush assist is even better than the wall bounce assist because it causes an indefinite ground bounce, meaning it will still ground bounce after you’ve used Spider Bite. Also, it’s an overhead! ;O

My questioning behind my team was whether or not running Iron Man on point and/or Spidey on anchor would work. I take pride into my ability with Spider-man so I believe I could reverse OCV a lot of people with a lvl 3 X-Factor Spider-man, given I take the time to prepare a lvl 3 X-Factor Spider-man. My issue is that I’m not quite sure if running Iron Man on point for said team would be too wise of an idea, due to the assists; Web Swing and Web Ball both provide great ground control while Iron Man is messing in that aerial mid-range, and Centurion Rush gives me the ability to create an unblockable from mid-range, but I’m not sure if those assists are quite what Iron Man needs to run on point well.

Played the team week 1. Loved it. Assists are perfect the way you have them set up. DHC’s are strong in that order aside from Taskmaster->Nova, in which case you have to DHC whenever Taskmaster is landing Legion Arrows hyper on an aerial opponent. Nova is very self-sufficient as an anchor unless he is dealing with primary keep away characters (Arthur and Morrigan come to mind…), where he will have a rather frustrating time.
