I saw that, and I have been trying too, and I have no clue. I did notice this guy when his matches with the japanese players were put on SRK, and I’ve followed him since. 1. I play Haggar/Dorm, and 2. This man’s movement is amazing, I love watching his dorm zip around.
About Dorm/Doom, FChamp showed he can still do good zoning with Dorm/Plasma Beam. It reminds me of his Dorm/Magneto days in Vanilla. I remember using Plasma Beam a lot before trying out Hidden Missiles because it’s easier to protect. Plus, it serves as a mid-range “get off me” assist because of the knockback.
As Cheech said, Morrigan/Doom is less risky than using Dorm/Doom because of Morrigan’s safety options. In the long run and if you’re planning to run Dorm/Doom (and if you have an assist that covers vertically), would it be better to go with Plasma Beam because it helps you both zone and provides crossup opportunities?
I’m sure this is one of those “wow, you didn’t know what, Karst?” moments, but I discovered a funny glitch with Dormammu:
If you are facing away from your opponent when you use Mass Change, the L and M inputs perform inverse functions.
I think I did that before in training mode and I was like “WHAT IS THIS MADNESS!?”
Since I cant find my original post that had the list of character I found with the stalking flare zak bennent extension I decided to post a tiny update.
Dante CAN set this up in a few ways
- Million Dollars in the corner on the final hit (you have to time it to where the oppenent will be as high as they can) its pretty easy
2.After Million Carrots extension you have to devil trigger into dorm while making sure the opposing character is as high as possible.
3.After tempest this one is a little trickier because you have to wait for the final hit to time it into devil trigger
Things to note
The only difficulty I have run into with the Million Dollars extension is that even though they BOUNCE on flare there doesn’t seem to be enough time to get to spells. I have remedied this by adding strider to my team. I wait til the 1st moment to call striders vajra after stalking flare. Once he is called I charge all Destruction spells by the time you get the last one you have enough time to activate it. Now as far as my execution with this is concerned, It could be that my hands have fatigued do to the hours I have been playing so I will try again soon to see if I can charge the spells.
I am doing this on the vita. The reason this is important is because some combos that work on the Ps3 dont work on the vita. Dont know if there are vita only combos that work on the ps3 (not sure about xbox since I dont own one and I’m a pad player). It should work so if someone could confirm this for me I would be appreciative.
Million Carrots version is EASIER to do if the oppenent is already in the air. So if you can find a way to have them airborn then do million carrots you will EASILY get the extension
Tempest I think is probably the most UNRELIABLE. Yes it works but the problem with the timing of the last hit seems to vary too much to find abusable imo.
Maybe someone with better execution could try it?
I tested this with a basic start ( meaning starting a regular game with 1 meter and xfactor stocked)
Now if you have meter to burn and start the combo in Devil trigger the damage should be more then enough to kill characters like task, shulk but I will test this as well.
So far with my team of Dante/Dorm/ Strider I have been able to get 1,041,000 in damage with this and I was utilizing the gunloop to maximize the damage. builds 1.9-1.95 meters with my version and I’m still trying to optimize it to get that last little bit of bar so dorm can kill characters in the 11 mil range.
Hope this helps!!!
Hey there, mind sharing some of the lockdown/keepaway patterns that you use with drones? Thanks.
what do you mean? Dorm can snap after any chaotic flame in the corner. thats usually when i snap. but remember that it is 2 frames so no matter how much hitstun they have on them you can use L or M first right after chaotic flame then cancel it with the snap. midscreen just wall bounce them or snap after an aircombo if you have an otg assis
i found a glitch but it isnt useful for anything, if you go into training mode and use a stalking flare on like iron man, pause and un pause as fast as you can over and over and try to switch life recover on opponent from on to off and back again every time you pause. If you do it right then eventually the sound effect for dorms moves hitting will no longer play when you hit that character. even if you snap them out i think… not usefull but kinda cool
Hahaha, how on earth did you figure this out? And is it Dormammu-specific?
No I meant snap within a combo. I have a video but can’t post it up until later.
Oh i see what you mean like if its the last character on their team? i have a few videos that show what you can do with that… mostly in the corner tho
I duno its not very interesting after a few mins so i didnt look too much into it but ill post a video about it tonight on my youtube channel
Yes. Mind putting those up? I don’t have internet right now and I’m posting from my phone so Im having a hard time getting the link off my YouTube for my video.
Edit: Heres mine…last combo

In Dormy’s XF on their last character, you can do a really silly loop of launch cancelled into snapback at the top of its hitbox, into launch snap, launch snap, continued, however, it’s really annoying to do for me.
Not even close to practical, but stylish as fuck.

The last two combos
What are the properties of carpet flame please?
As it, how long does it stay out for? Number of hits? once it starts hitting, does it stay out for the total number of hits etc.
If only this information were posted somewhere in this thread…
Oooh! I got one that isn’t in the thread (or I just missed it).
Raw liberation (as in 0D0C), does it have fixed hitstun? It pertains to a few extensions with Bolts.
