Right. Time will tell…
It is certainly an attractive dream, isn’t it?
I know, right? The thought of Vergil getting nerfed is certainly a merry one. Bastard has so much bullshit at his disposal that it’s ridiculous.

What is the hard-to-blockable with flame carpet?
Lay a Flame Carpet, trijump behind the opponent as he comes in and hit with an aerial. There are a lot of variants, like staying in front and doing j.MHS, or Mass Change into tridash j.H, and they can all work. It’s unblockable if you do it right and you can make them land in the fire.
You can do j.LHS, or you might try doing j.LHS, s.H, f.H, teleport, etc. I haven’t messed with it.
I recently picked up dormammu since doom is really getting sick to my stomach. My current team is Modok/dorm/sent. Are there any tips you could give me on the basic netural game?
I have a question about Dormammu’s 3 creator liberation. I am aware that the opponent must be grounded, but if they are on the floor… can this be blocked?
Yes.
And that’s why no one ever uses 3C lol. When in doubt use 2D1C.
I just picked up MODOK in order to counterpick specific characters for my Dorm/Doom shell. Maybe we should trade advice lol. Dorm with Drones? Constantly do teleporting mixups against characters you can’t keep away and use dark spells along with flame carpet and purification for characters that cannot get in.
The easiest mixups with Dormammu are super jump jh crossup, jl instant overhead in tandem with crouching light.
Also, consider what assist to use for MODOK. Most people would think to use balloon bomb as it is normally his default assist. But, barrier and blaster are better for Dormammu. Barrier can be used basically as a flame carpet while blaster can be utilized for derpmammu mixups.
…damn it. Back to the drawing board. I think Dorm’s liberation will be good for haggar. empty charge can be used for an OTG followup. Stalking Flare as a THC might be some fun as well.
I like Dark Hole more for Haggar. Holds opponent in place after OTG while I scoop them with Hoodlum.
@Karsts hey man I have a few questions. I’m working on a new team consisting of Spiderman (spiderswing), Dorm (purification), and ammy coldstar. What do you think about this team. I’d like to hear your thoughts? I’m currently in the process of learning spidey and his combos/movement. DHC wise Spidey -> Dorm DHCs do ALOT of damage and dorm can DHC from any of spideys moves really well for alot of extenders too depending on the type of dhc especially w/ stalking flare. Also I feel like Dorm/Ammy is also a really good duo too and if in a tough spot the THC w/ ammy allows for mixups on block and on block/hit allows for dorm to charge his spells and finish comboing after a hit also. So you or anyone else for that matter what do you think of that team that I am trying to work on?
Also about Hsien-ko I was wondering like what is your progress w/ that team. How do you feel her and dorm work together? Also w/ her lockdown assist do you get her otg super as a THC? This team has given me thoughts of a Hsein-Ko, Dorm (purification), ammy (bloom) team. What do you think about this team? I feel that 2 lockdown assists for dorm would be alittle redundant. Also w/ Ammy if i’m not mistaken your able to get 3 charges from a blocked cold star correct? Also how many charges can you get off a blocked Hsein-ko assist?
Any opinions about that theory team w/ ammy? I feel like w/ meter building assist for ammy that it would be better for the team.
I think Dormammu/Ammy is an “okay” combination. I really feel as though Amaterasu is not good enough to be Dormammu’s only assist, and it tends not to cover the areas he needs help with. It’s great as a secondary assist for relaunches and being a pinning assist, though. If you watch some Zak Bennet matches, I think you’ll get a good idea of Cold Star’s limitations. Don’t get me wrong, Cold Star is one of the best assists in the game. Dormammu just doesn’t get a lot from pinning the opponent aside from a j.L, c.L mix-up, and people tend to want to be airborne against him anyway. I think the team is fine overall, though; just not great.
I haven’t messed around a lot with Dormammu/Hsien-ko/Morrigan yet. I have been playing Hsien-ko/Dr. Strange/Dr. Doom, though, and have OCVed people with Hsien-ko. She’s not a good character - I won’t pretend she is for a minute, but she’s not incapable of winning. Her gongs counter a lot of the metagame. There’s no such thing as a teleport cross-up or zoning war against Hsien-ko. She has near-perfect screen control. I’m honestly more interested in using Hsien-ko for Hsien-ko (on point) than abusing armored Senpu Bu. You can use Senpu Bu to approach if you’re covered by an assist. If Dormammu had a tracking Purification assist, I think Hsien-ko/Dormammu/Morrigan would be my team of the forever. It’s tough when all of Dormammu’s assists suck, though.
You really don’t want to use any meter assist that isn’t Morrigan’s. Bloom is very unsafe, you’re going to lose Amaterasu a lot.
Question: does Dormammu’s no-charge-Liberation come out fast? Anyone seeing its use in being a GTFO assist?
Nope.
So it has practically no use whatsoever outside combo extension? GG, then.
There are some setups with the charged Liberations, but yeah, 0D0C is combo extension only.
This tutorial, I’ve read it 4 times and still find new things everytime I skim through it. It is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I could help out with some of the synergy w/ some of the characters, if you would like, since I found some of my characters weren’t there. Amazing guide though.
Hello!
Can you give me an combo example how to relaunch with Skrull first assist(stone smite) both midscreen and corner?
And what a cornerstone Dormammu BnB now?
I just hopped in training mode for 30 secs with Skrull on Stone Smite assist and here’s an easy combo for you midscreen:
Cr.:l:, cr.:h:, :s: > super jump > j., j., j.:h:, j.:s: > land + call Stone Smite > jump up forward then airdash down forward to get right infront of them, :df:+:h: (Stone Smite hits here while Flame Carpet OTGs them) > jump up forward then airdash down forward > land > :s: > super jump > j., j., j.:h:, j.:s: > land > OTG Purification xx Chaotic Flame
That’s very simple and easy to begin with, but testing that gets you around 930k if you DHC to Skrull’s Inferno with room for much improvement, if you have another assist which works well to extend combos you could likely get another 100k and more meter out of it after the second launch series. In the corner you just don’t need to re-adjust your positioning with the airdashing around, but after the Stone Smite hits you’re gonna wanna walk back to keep them in the corner or you’re going to combo them back into midscreen where your DHC options aren’t as good.
Experiment man.
Thank you. Honestly, I find new things when I re-read it too, and I wrote it - hahaha. Any help on character synergies is thoroughly appreciated. In Vanilla, I spent a lot of time figuring those things out, but now I’m really focused on trying to figure out my own team - it sucks to not have one!
Thanks a lot! I’m just new for mahvel and want to understand basic rules or components to create combos
