No, because despite the holes that you fill with Dormammu by backing him with 2 assists, he simply does not have the start-of-the-round tools and normals required to be consistent. You are extremely liable to get bopped with Dorm when you have these extremely fast and heavy hitting characters bumping chests with you at the start of the round.
It not about relying on building meter, you’re not putting Dorm in the 2nd slot for that, you putting him there so you can start making the opponent play around your game instead of the other way around. If you can make them block a ball from full screen, its game over for their character, that just isn’t really a consistent option when you play Dorm on point.
On top of that, you still get to play Dorm with 2 assists, theres just a small bit of setup required to get him in safely.
Plus your point doesn’t have to be Magneto, just a character that is suited for being on point.
Oh and I just tested using neutral Liberation against Morrigan’s bullets. The move has durability instead of just being a giant shield. It will eat one bullet, but during Astral Vision the other always gets through. Not to mention appropriately timed fireballs will hit while Dorm is recovering from Liberation.
-One way to disappear both soulfists is to use s.M and then cancel it to Liberation, another one is using c.H, timing is tight and since Dorm is tall, it’s kinda dangerous to try to null soulfist, it’s better to fly and try to charge 3D, that can nullify them and put Morrigan on a defensive state…-
Exactly, you’re not going to pull off a Stalking Flare at the start of the round unless you’re playing someone really dumb.
I’ve been messing with Hawkeye’s Kiss of Fire for a bit since it’s somewhat similar to Magnetic Shockwave and Greyhound is a durable Disruptor, but Hawkeye on point is iffy without an assist like Tatsu to get him out of start-of-round BS.
I think the point has to be someone who’s suitable for the job and also provide a pretty good assist. I like having 2 neutral game assists for Dorm.
It might, but you’d have to adjust the spacing because if she fires with AV on and you don’t move, your gonna nullify the front bullet and get smashed by the back before you can get Liberation out. Maybe if you moved forward to attack the first projectile? Either way, she’s a whore.
Let me apologize in advance for having not read everything. A quick search didn’t turn up that flame carpet on cornered characters yields some character specific combos. Wolverine, firebrand, ammy, Joe, raccoon all bounce on a very cornered flame carpet. you get easy relaunches and can even loop chaotic flames by letting them bounce and land the unspent fire. I had a fun time today killing firebrand for one meter using hidden missiles and the carpet to loop more relaunches and chaotic flame followups. As far as I’m concerned wolvie, ammy, and firebrand make knowing this worthwhile. Joe is a bit of a vendetta I have. Nice to know he can die off one hit in the corner…
Trying to learn this character so please don’t think I’m rude if I ask something basic. Trying to read up as I can but I do get more questions than answers as I go.
Seems like those tac infinites are all about not using grounded moves to extend the combos. Dormammu might have a hard time because he doesn’t have many air ok special moves. Definitely worth checking still.
