The Dark Matter canceled into teleport gives him the ability to cross-up someone by himself. You can follow-up if you time the teleport just as the opponent is about to hit the wall. Sometimes, I look at Dormammu and when he finishes throwing the Dark Matter, I immediately teleport with the M version.
He has a good block string with cr. L, st. H, Dark Matter xx Dark Hole
Dorm actually has a BnB involving Dark Matter Teleport as well if you are interested in learning it.
Holy sh*t! this character is godlike. Just like you said, if you teleport M right when the Dark matter leaves his hands it crosses up, and sends the opponent flying into your chest, which you can link with s.M. Thanks for the pro tip.
Hello all, I was just wondering what some of dorms better options are for ending a block string. Like, for example, say I call a disruptah and M teleport, then jH etc. But somehow they manage to block it. What would you recommend I do upon landing?
^There’s also cr. L xx Flame Carpet, but with Dark Matter being special-cancelabIe, the block-string I listed above is the best one for now. As long as you use the correct version of Dark Hole to make contact with the opponent, you’re left at +7 frame advantage.
Ending block strings with Flame Carpet leaves you with +4 advantage.
Yes, he is. Unfortunately, the top player representation of Dormammu is really small for a character that’s arguably top 5-10.
It’s because people mistakenly judge a character by his point abilities in tier lists. Dormammu is definitely top 10 on point, but he is not top 10 as a team player. His assists gimp teams. Give him Dark Matter, Flame Carpet, and Power of the Destructor as assists, and you’ll see him all over the place. (Or give him tracking Purification…). There is not a single team I can think of that I can’t think of making better in terms of team synergy by replacing Dormammu. Therefore, if you play Dormammu, it has to be a “Dormammu team” - dedicated character specialists will always be lower in number than people who want a fully developed team.
Quick question guys. What are some good mid-screen mix ups for a incoming opponent? I have one for the corner, which is Flame carpet, then M teleport into H, then c.M into launcher. (If you know of any better corner setups please let me know), but for the the mid-screen, what are some good incoming mix-ups with no assist?
So I recorded some matches a few days ago where I tried to use some launcher canceling tech and stylish combos with dormammu, a lot of people tell me that they cant be done online and there is no reason for them but its just how I play him anyway check it out if you wana see me win a few games with flair(stalking flare that is)

Your footsie, ground + zoning game needs alot of work. Seemed like u were just fishing for a combo u had in your head the whole time v a pretty bad/ average player.U had no mix ups or tri jump mix ups or low attacks in the whole set , pretty much just down forward H with the occasional dark mattter + teleport which was usually telegraphed because of your lack of any zoning pattern or flow. Just being honest.
Keep up the creative combo videos though as I do enjoy them.
yeah ive gotten that before and i have mixups and unblockables but i didnt need them for one and two im a completely different player offline believe it or not
oh also since i HAVE heard this comment before do you have any advice? im not really sure what people mean by footsies and like i said do you just mean hit confirming off low attacks?
Can someone tell me how I can properly land j.S after a DHC into Stalking Flare? I try to teleport up to the opponent while they’re getting hit by the stalking flare and for some reason, the jump S doesn’t send them back to the ground even when its the last hit. What am I missing?
